  1. Hi again! Before I point out more glitches, I just want to first state that I love this mod. It looks stunning, so when I post these, I post only to highlight and improve However, a few things I've noticed on my first run: The lights of Kerbin are visible through the Mun (slight above the NavBall) When near Kerbol's corona, it appears that Kerbin becomes translucent? Not sure if either of these have been noted, but wanted to just highlight them for the developers of the mod KUTGW!
  2. Just a little pointer for the folks cursed by disappearing conics (trajectory paths) on the Map mode. I find if you zoom out they will re-appear, and you can zoom back in as normal then. You have to do this every time you enter map mode..... but given that (most) burns have a big window of waiting, a few seconds to zoom out/in shouldn't harm Yup, gets a bit annoying, but better than no conics!
  3. Never had a successful interplanetary transfer, and this seems like it could be very handy. Thanks!
  4. I'm happy to continue playing, even if resources are late coming. There is plenty to keep me busy right now, and playing slowly and deliberately, I hope to stretch out the enjoyment and limit the tedium that could develop. With any luck a new update will be ushered in before I hit that stage, then I start start over
  5. Hello LTrotsky, and welcome! A quick question: On your descent, are you using the time acceleration feature? You'll know my how many 'triangles' are highlighted above your MET (Mission Elapsed Time) in the top-left of the screen. Using this at more than 2x acceleration (2 triangles!) can have nasty consequences when parachutes are deployed! Also, as you build your rocket, on the right hand of the screen you'll see your staging ladder. Make sure the little parachute icon is in a separate - higher - "box" than your engine symbol. To do that, simple click the little "+" button near your boxes and drag your parachute icon higher (or engine lower).
  6. While folks often raise valid points, it is important to remember the game is in its infancy and has a long way to go Feedback = awesome. Despair and aggression = daft.
  7. Completed my first landing and return on Minmus in career mode. The sense of achievement makes it all the more sweeter than in sandbox! Also grabbed over 450 science for it, which was nice.
  8. Successfully completed my post-.22 orbit of something other than Kerbin! (Mun!) I'm playing a slow and deliberate pace. For example, I'll launch a few more orbits, then a few probes, and THEN make a Kerbal landing
  9. Isn't that like wanting to collect materials and resources in Creative mode Minecraft?
  10. I read the points about power-leveling through the tech tree with interest. While some of the points made are valid, and I too hope the tech tree isn't an afternoon's work, I'd also like to point out that one can set self imposed limits and attempt to play at a more realistic pace and setting, thus increasing the longevity of the tree. Doubtless, there will always be some who power through quickly regardless. But my personal play style would be to play at a more pedestrian pace in a logical way. Heck, I even play sandbox in this way: haven't sent a probe to the Mun? Then I sure as hell won't send a live Kerbal!
  11. Not necessarily. All they have to do is disable tech tree/scipoints in sandbox while still enabling the actions to be performed.
  12. Unsuccessfully attempted to land on Mun, resulting in the death of Samton Kerbin. Successfully landed on the surface of the Mun with Munar Mk 2, in a Samton Crater. However, used up too much juice landing and now the lander & Kerbonaut are stranded on the Mun. Unsuccessfully attempted to land the main ship in an attempt to rescue the stranded Kerbal. Touched down just fine, but the main ship wasn't designed from landing and thus had no landing gear. My heart was in my throat as it toppled and swayed gently on the engine before falling gracefully to the Munar surface, causing the command module to become detached from the main part of the vessel. So far, Mun has cost 1 Kerbonaut's life, and has stranded 3 others. Bill Kerbin is currently solo-flying a rescue mission in an attempt to bring the 3 stranded Kerbonauts back to Kerbin safely. In the words of Gene Kranz: failure is not an option, people!

    Hello!

Greetings, everyone! I picked up KSP about a week ago and have been loving it ever since first launch! I've been devouring all manner of Let's Play, Tutorial, Challenge (etc) videos on YouTube, as well as browsing and reading the forums for neat ideas and inspiration. I decided to finally sign up and get involved with the community, and look forward to participating and getting involved. A little about me: I live in the UK and work in engineering (specifically marine engineering with Maersk Line), and I've had a fascination with astronomy and the stars for as long as I care to remember! I guess that explains why I love this game so much already! I'm looking forward to seeing where Squad take the game in the future. I've already started plugging the game to friends and family, too! So, with all the said, it's great to meet you all!
