Public Announcement: Landing Zone Alpha/Bravo/Charlie are now open for business. Please find the latest persistance files + Hi-Res Picture in my original Post. Greghorst its now your go...

Ok, landing IN a Crator isn\'t working so well. An I forgot to Quicksave (F5), so... Face Palm self time. As I ripe wings + engines off the craft as I gently collide into the very uneven ground. Back too try again... (Having buckets of fun.) Thinking of trying to land, at the very edge of a large Crator... See how that works..

Valid point about about LZ 3, but I fear any new updates .15/.16/.17 will break compatability with the present Persistance file. At the very least, it could introduce NAN errors. An any new updates to the game are recommended on a clean install, as always. I Trully fear, as more updates are released, the Stock + Modded Mun Colony projects will have to be started from fresh, at some point... So Landing at LZ 3 - Bob\'s Bottom (South Pole Crater), an having are ships swallowed up by the ground will be the least of our worries. I see it as Havean for the experienced pilots, an a target to work for, too the newer members...

Will add you now. As a member fortunite enough to be on the Volunter Test Group, I am afraid, we rarely get more than 24-48 hours with a single Test build, which at times I feel is never enough, too get ALL the bugs. I just wish Harvester gave us, enough time in the later/last test build, closer to a week, to trouble shoot. However I do appreciate him not wanting to test that long, with close too 20-30 thousand players wanted to download it... Moving on, I have made a succesful landing at Landing Zone A, also left a little surprise on a Kerbol Escape Trajectory.. An now about to officially attempt colonizing Landing Zones B + C. Does any active members have any objects too these proposed landing sites? (B = Jeb\'s Crack + C = Bob\'s Bottom) @

Thanks, but I noticed there is Four Large craters (Roughly 150M x 100M x 80M) surrounded by a strangely flat area! I\'ll drop a lander + a flag in one of them. An call it LZ Charlie... I must admit, when on the clock, it\'s infuriatingly difficult. I have had too re-download, Persistance file + extract the KSP 14.4 build. To eliminate corrupt saves, plus rebuild my APOLLO-02 ship. Kept randomly flipping over in atmosphere... Found 2-3 undocumented bugs, an wasn\'t even looking, typically they pop up, when trying to contribute. Took nearly 20 launches to get to the Mun SOI, then the exploding bug broke my ship. Have up late last night I now can appreciate why it took members some time. More too come folks...

Original Post updated - Now its Seanoog\'s Go... Any Members, who missed the launch window are welcome to book another flight. Thank you for your compliment, an you have been added to the flight list. Please be patient, as the list is long.

I intend to. As for lag spike, when I get above 2Km, when ships are loaded into memory + constructed. Then another spike, taking all craft off rails. But landing, with all the craft, is lag free due too my pc power. Just, my experience but I must consider the whole community. God - any progress? I really don\'t want too cut you off this flight, it\'s been over 4 days. Consideration given for your hardware problem.
-
Hard enough to land, when you usually relay on RCA assisted landings. Then when engaging RCS discovered you shafted. Still lovely craft, an it\'s design will inspire my next large Mun lander design. Valid question. Thankfully the Persistance files are very flexible. An the only reason I am considering other landing spots is to reduce lag crashes, an low FPS for laptop users. So to sneaker you question, a single Persistance file for all Three LZ\'s. No need to split it further, as all proposed sites are far enough away.
-
I found that out at my cost... Tried landing your design an no RCS on landing... Didn\'t end too well. The lived, but cant get home. Landing Zone Bravo, is still easy to reach, so should continue to entice new members, with limited piloting skills. The Landing Zone Charlie, is for advanced/experianced pilots. Been browsing this thread @ http://kerbalspaceprogram.com/forum/index.php?topic=9344.0 Tring to understand, an Setup a Kessler server locally on my PC too Host. This would allow regular flights, from all members very quickly. Not waiting days. Can any members here had any luck with servers, it\'s the one area of computer I HATE. Any help understanding, setting up would be great...

Looks like at a brief, there is interest in both sites. I\'d like too open both, however there is the fear that pilots, will start randomly landing at all 3 Landing Zones, making this a little confussing for new members. I am seriously considering the following: 1. Landing Zone Alpha - Bill\'s Plateau (Present LZ: OPEN - However Restricting Landings too 10 (Presently 6), due too Potential Lag Crashing for Laptop users) 2. Landing Zone Bravo - Jeb\'s Crack* (Proposed LZ by Mr_Orion: OPEN - Easy alternative to LZ Alpha) * Thanks Apotheosist - For hilarious name. 3. Landing Zone Charlie - Bob\'s Bottom (Proposed South Pole Crators by Seanoog: OPEN - Hard alternative to LZ Alpha, Limited Landing/Maneuvering Space, in each crator) What do members think? I wouldn\'t refuse a Persistance file, however I make the decision to open more Landing Zones, only so every community member can access the file. Not every one has a PC capable of handling 500+ Parts, which it LZ Alpha soon will have. Causing Lag crash\'s. Gojira, do you wish too rebook another flight on the Stock Mun Base?
-
Thank you Mr_orion. Believe it or not, I actually seriously considered! An originally intended to start Landing Zone Alpha at that site, but due to a confussion an lack of fuel on my part, I set up camp where I did! PS: Really liked your lander design! Lots of legs. Landing Zone Alpha: Please suggest what landing zone youd like: 1. South Pole Crator. 2. Mr_Orion LZ @

I think he is on holidays/working. An stated he would dedicate less time too the Modded Base. It is still active with roster of waiting flights. So please just be patient, an wait for him to reply. I\'ll happily add you once I am home. (Hate editing posts on my phone) Can you please post Your Persistance file with landed craft, at proposed LZ Bravo. + some screen shots. I strongly consider it. Thanks. Recruitment Garbage Drive. Flight Requests For Stock Community Mun Base, are welcome from ALL Members... Adventures Explosions await ALL Bravo Captains. Sign Up Now.. For 100% Extra Adventures Explosions.

Have to agree. It\'s unacceptable that the Stock Community Mun Base 2.0, falls too page 2... As long as its not on Page 3. I also flew a mission with the Persistance file, with a large craft (APOLLO 2) in preparation for my turn, an had a massive 30 second hang, while it took all craft off rails.. Definitely think its time for Landing Zone Bravo: 1. Mun Monoleth, but I haven\'t found one. 2. South Pole Crator. 3. Suggestions welcome. Any progress God? As where waiting on your updated Persistance file.
-
No I didn\'t. Certainly not in my PM Inbox, or did you post it in this thread, an I missed it? What\'s on your mind? Please send it too me by PM.
-
Thanks Sting_auer. I am sorry you cant find the time. PS: I am sick too. Would you like me to add you again, at the end of the list for another try? God, Its now your go. Please see my original post for details an the latest persistance file.
-
Thank you, for your enthusiasm! If only certain other members on the list, got stuck in when it was there turn! Have fun! 8)
-
I have kept you on the list! Hope you had a good holiday... Due to Gojira missing his/her flight window, the Stock Base Flight List is moving on... sting_auer, Its now your turn. Please see my original post, for all the latest details, an the Persistance file...

[Stock][0.14.4] Jupiter Mk.5 Münar rocket
Seanoog replied to EDF's topic in KSP1 The Spacecraft Exchange
Thank You. I actually really enjoyed your craft, an its happily parked at 120KM Circular orbit, on my Persistance file. I usually release/develop my craft too: Take the Biggest, most powerful craft with loads of fuel as possible ships... Realistically it needs more RCS, may be just one more tank, even to the final return module, so the Lander stage or for High Atmo manuevering. You really only need 3 RCS Thrusters, per cluster. An I\'d recommend moving 1 cluster to the Mun Lander stage. It had ample power, leaving the deck. I was throttle\'d back too 33% after 30K as it kept accalerating like a scolded cat. Extremely well put together with struts every where. (Consider safely removing some struts to save on weight, an parts that need Physics simulation) Whats with the downward struts connected to the engines for? PS: Consider pairing Four Fuel Tanks Per LV-T30 Engine, It makes a heavier/lazier craft. But allows a burn that commonly allows a craft to achieve a orbit without ever jettising first stage. -
Thanks God, for letting me know. I\'ll slot you in again in first available slot, once you return From your break. Under the Terms of Rule: 6. As long as an attempt has been made, pilots may request further time, to succesful land. Thank you. Are you a laptop user? Having Lag issues with the latest Persistance File? I like the idea too of Bravo LZ been at a Monolith, but I haven\'t found one on the Mun yet. Any one know the co-ordinates to one? (Pictures please) Gojira it\'s now your go Please see my original post for the latest Persistance File.

Hi God. The Base is close to the equator, so not too much manuvering/orbit changes is needed (If you leave KSC, Due East). In worst case scenario, pilot a large craft, to carry enough fuel for multiply Mun Landings, an Bunny hop to the base. I done that a few times in my early Mun Landings, was wanderful way to train, an teach me better craft control. Please try your best, an if still unsuccesful, by the time you have to leave, let us know. That way, the next pilot on the flight list can go, an your welcome to retry once you return (Because you informed us, of your time restraints in advance.) Only a compliment, where it is due! A very good design. 8) Adding you now!
-
Wonderful work Khyron42, an hope your feeling better! SS Dependable is a lovely looking ship, might I say. An the size of the lifter stage. 8) PS: Would you like to book another flight? I agree, with regards Lag. If Laptop users experiance Lag, please inform me. I will then seriously consider landing at Bravo Landing Zone. Bravo Landing Zone\'s Position is unknown at this time. (Recommendations, are welcome at this time.) Updating Original Post Now: God, Its now your go.
-
Sing? You can sing all you want! Just keep the noise to an acceptable level, back there. PS: you mean 'sign' Slow day at work for me! + Deprived of playing KSP.
-
The Stock Base, only works with KSP 14.4 (I have tested this Fact, an updated the rules.) Viewing the Modded Base rules, indicate its still KSP 14.3 (At Time of posting.) I havent tested it... Come on guys role up, Book your Flight. An adventure awaits brave Kerbols. Trbinsc, I\'d like to book a flight to the Modded Base. (I now feel dirty!) Point me to the nearest shower. PS- Can I fly a stock craft? 8)

Blond moment - Thanks for the Link. My original Post has now been updated. I just loaded the Persistance file, to snap Hi-Res Pictures (1900x1200) an it loaded just fine with (KSP 14.4) Khyron42 its now your go. EDIT: Caesar15 + MC3Craze. Please feel free to request another flight. At which point you will be put at the End of the list.
