  1. Go on, post some pictures please. Also looking forward to an update for your ship with stock parts. I was considering creating a thread for Engineering Goliaths. Sadly I am at work.. I have a prototype ship that has upto 40 engines in the first stage, each with 3-4 tanks of fuel. But it kills even my pc, with all the supporting parts + struts..
  2. Firstly, welcome to the Forums. 8) Your ship was nice to fly, however there is still much to improve on. The 8 Decouplers + Winglets on the lander is overkill, only really needs 4, so could save weight there. I\'d recommended that you have a shorter landing module, as its much too easy to topple with yours been so high. The Green Winglets that dont move, have no benifits to that particular stage. (However they do transfer heat very well, especially good when radially mounting several SRB\'s together, at keeping there temps in check.) (Asthetics!? They look good.) Your ship isn\'t exaclty symmetrical? It pitched forward several times when I launched with ASAS engaged, meaning it isn\'t exactly balanced properly, which is critical to rocket design. The initial stage, constructed with two Tri-couplers, looks good, but there heavy, an it is possible to achieve better weight performance by dispensing with them... I wont lie, I did enjoy flying you craft, was certainly different, an fun. An I hope you take my critisim constructivly.   3. Thank you. your ship was enjoyable to play with.. Now the taking off, was difficult, as it was as manuverable as a concrete slab in flight (An I like my ships sluggish to move in orbit). But once in space, the fours pillars where likely wobbling goal posts to guide my shuttle through, was fun an education to keep my ship looping through them. Especially good training for docking.

  5. Thanks. Well grouping the ships one in one thread would be great for not spamming the Forum, but having seperate threads means I have 5000KB allocated to craft files + pictures. Hope every one is enjoying them, or at least learning from them. Especially hope new members get some joy, took me months of development, which made KSP a joy to play...   13. Hurray... A Stock repository... Some lovely ship designs here. Just a suggestion would a Orbital/Mun Lander/Voyager Ship classes not be better. With Sub-catagories based on size (Rough Part Numbers) Small/Medium/Large/X-Large+Misc categories not be best? Will up load some designs tomorrow.
  14. Great video Kosmo-not. Especially loved the music playing to it. As for your craft design, its looks good must test it shortly. I also briefly played with a lander design simular to yours, with limited success. Great work with your stock ships.
  15. A wonderful thread. An a Heaven for us Stock/Purist Astronaughts. In response to this problem, with exploding SRB\'s is to add winglets. By adding AV-T1 -Winglets, Green none moving kind. they increase surface area an increase heat dissapation. With example design, all Eight SRB\'s (2x4Cluster) overheat, an achieve 50% of Overheating scale but dont explode. I regularily use 4 SRB\'s in Clusters on my Ship designs, to give them a little kick start.
  16. Your certainly not winning any safety standard programs with that plane. Was especially funny when it kept level even without the wing. Wonderful plane OP, I must down load it shortly, to fly it once I have the mods installed. I was very surprise, just how accurate KSP is, an how well balanced C7 parts are. I have made planes, as faithful as possible to there real designs, an in KSP they handle very like there real life counter parts, certainly inherited there more unusal/extreme fly characteristics.   19. Recomended Design changes to KS-71-4 (Mod 2) Mount engines onto the main body, attach wings to the nacelles. Edit: Due to my extreme lack of experience with 4 engined spaceplanes, Im postponing the devolpment of the KS-71-4 Program untill further notice. Any tips with 4 engined spaceplane construction is more than welcome lmao. ;P Again great work Golakka. You\'d be surprised how simular my flight results where for my SX-71 (4 Engine Varient) Fine at low speeds an low altidudes cruising, had a tendency to want to lift nose up violently, but was just controllable with C7 ASAS system. On ASAS Di-activation, the ship was completely uncontrollable - resulting in imminent Death. > Krazy Industries: intends to modify craft, two contain extra engines, but maintain relativly accurate plane design too SR-71 BlackBird. I have strongly considered, ie early testing. Of including 4 engines just like yours, but staging the two inner ones to fire normally. An the two outer ones to active on requirement. because, I found it was the extra trust from 2 said outer engines that causes the difficult flying - death scenarios. PS: can you kindly upload the file for the Tyberdine SAS Module. I\'d certainly give it a go. PSS: Friendly competition is fun.
  20. Thanks for the suggestion. However, as I primarily a purist to Harvesters Vanilla parts, its rare I even experiment with mod packs. Now I am not implying that Mod packs are bad, I see some ships that look beutiful an huge thanks to mods. However the C7 Mod pack is a rare exception, to be installed on my pc. Deffinitly no RCS packs on my ship however other members are welcome to use mine, as inspiration to add RCS to there equivalent SR-71 design. After all the real SR-71 is only capable of 85000Ft, roughly a Sub-orbital flight. PS: Working on a RX-71 with 4 engines... Tests are particularily interesting...

  22. It is a lovely craft, you created. An the real SR-71... Well words to describe it. 8) I hope you dont take offence, but with you inspiration I have created my own SR-71. Almost identical to your\'s. 1 ASAS, which oddly the ship oscilates too when activated. An as I suggested the struts + Fuel lines are hidden underneath. Also a secound set of flaps on the outer wings, as the real SR-71 have them, dont really thing it needs the extra lift however. Still have to test wheels, as I enjoy landing Crashing just as much as flying. As for flying, in low orbit, the ship is very stable an nearly flys very well will little input. I\'ll also post craft files shortly, if Golakka, concents to allowing me to modify his ship design. Golakka, thank you for the inspiration to recreate the SR-71.
  23. Very nice recreation of the SR-71. But why two ASAS modules, you only need one! Assuming I haven\'t mistaken one of them for anothe part! What are those black props? on the front of the engines? Also you really should hide the fuel transfer pipes an struts under the wings... Any chance of releasing the craft file?
  24. lmao. Definitely can\'t see this form of transport taking off. =P - But its very Kerbal... Why send passengers safely in a pressurised cabin, when you can strap them to the fuselage, its not like there explosive...
