  1. 99 annoying bugs in the code 99 bugs in the code. You take one down patch it around 376 bugs in the code. In all serious if you have a problem with a specific the most constructive thing you can do is post it in the bug tracker. Simply telling the devs to "fix those bugs" isn't going to accomplish much.
  2. Except that we have long range intercontinental weapons now. Mutually assured destruction is a powerful thing.
  3. K^2 is absolutely correct. In an international forum in a thread talking about a sketchy new propulsion system that goes against known physics why should we think you mean anything less than what you say? When you said ISP you could have been referring back to the idea that was thrown around that it could be an ablating the walls of the device to produce thrust, or you could be referring to its efficiency with regards to power needed for thrust produced. Because ISP might not actually factor in to this engine (discounting nuclear fuel spent on generating electricity) we are left to guess what you mean by it. I mean this is "The Science Labs", I do think that it is fair to have a higher standard with regards to preciseness of our terms than the other subforums. On a different note. The difference between the thrust of this engine and jet engines is that it doesn't change depending on how fast or high you are flying so you don't run into the same issues allowing you to fly faster and higher. It would be interesting in how this factors into its efficiency when used on an aircraft, sans power generation of course.
  4. On the floor. I did not enjoy searching those lyrics up. The song those lyrics takes you to is not pretty. "Then someone yelled out contact, and the bloke behind me swore"
  5. Wake me when you grow me a steak. :hailmeat:
  6. Off topic but WinkAllKerb not to sound mean but when did your English skills get that good? Wow good job man! On topic. I'm looking forward to this is, as long as the quality is on par with his Space Oddity video I will be happy!
  7. Risk reward. Not to mention the technology needed for a rover mission exists and has been proven time and time again. Most of which cannot be said of a manned mission.
  8. This, to be honest there is only so much the game can do to correct human stupidity. Just learn from the mistake and move in.
  9. Yeah they are below the main photo. Couple of cool retro ones in there as well.
  10. Nope not working for me, can someone repost them if you can see them?
  11. Nibb31 your pictures aren't working, for me atleast.
  12. No Player B would not be synced with the propellent depot, Player A would have pulled the depot forward into time in order to interact with it, if Player B wants to interact with the depot then he would have to sync forward into time before being able to interact with the depot. Is it fair? No but what are you going to do, In a game where one of the main mechanics is time manipulation compromises have to be made somewhere. I imagine multiplayer being run on private servers between 3-4 friends at most for the vast majority of the time, in a game like this griefing is going to be a very big issue, if someone doesn't want to play by the rules than I don't think that there is much the devs can do about that aside from giving players the tools to prevent it themselves (such as being able to set ships to private and the such). Syncing doesn't physically move the ship involved, all it does is skip time forward to match that of another ship or player. Basically time warping. I have no arguments here, my opinion is that there are no physical problems with the time sync method (paradoxes), the only problems are from the interaction of multiple players (not a major problem in my opinion) such as someone syncing forward a station just as someone else is about to dock. I really need to stop saying "no problems" and instead say "no major problems".
  13. So instead of having a system where each player is free to do as they please and are not forced to do anything you want a vote system where everyone is forced into using the same time warp system. What? Look we have to admit that no system is perfect. In my opinion the way the KMP does it is the best of both worlds. It allows you to play with your friends as well as striving off on your own without affecting anyone else (aside from asteroids Red Iron Crown). Speaking of which the only real issue that cannot be fixed with the race idea is the human factor. Everything else still works. So let's say you race to an asteroid or ship or what ever it is. Someone time warps faster than the other and takes a slower route. Getting there first IRL but later according to the in game clock. How do you stop them moving the asteroid before the other person gets there IRL? Simple, by making a rule about saying that they can't do that. There are no paradoxes because the only people that can interact with something are the ones who are synced with it. The only problems come from either poor communication or from people being poor sportsman in the case of someone syncing forward a station just as someone is about to dock. (Which doesn't physically move the station by the way). These threads keep coming up but the only other ideas aside from the way KMP does it are have a voting or admin control system or have everyone controlling one ship (which I'm still not sure on how it would work by the way). So aside from people not playing nice what are the actual problems with the way KMP does it? Edit. Wait why would you have to sync all of you ships 30 years ahead? You only have to sync on a ship by ship case when you want to interact with that ship.
  14. Well you can see wires in the second photo so I'm guessing it isn't final.
  15. Only if it is distributed. Same deal as diamonds. If the world's supply was distributed it wouldn't be worth what it is today but one company has a monopoly on it so they are able to control the demands.
  16. I am honestly very excited for this. It sounds like what I thought that RT was before I realized how tedious it really is.
  17. Ok then I will restate my position, is there another system as versatile as the one that KNP uses that does allow for those races. Though the above situation only doesn't work if Player A moves the asteroid. Besides this is a situation for the players to work out who won not us.
  18. Bagh darn motor boats. To loud and messy for me, sail all the way! In any case congrats?
  19. I honestly do not know how this topic is still an issue. StarWhip hit the nail on the head, or more accurately KMP did. I can not think of one theoretical flaw with their method aside from bugs. Races are not a problem in the slightest. Just look at the in game time. You may have landed on Duna faster than your mate by timewarping but he might have taken a quicker orbit at slower time warp meaning he got there quicker. I mean do people have so little trust in Squad as to think that they would start to make multiplayer without figuring out the timewarp issue first?
  20. If the effects were noticeable to the backyard scientist the wouldn't be this much controversy. All you will really notice are the effects of microwave radiation.
  21. I'm just going to fall asleep for a few years so I can just get the results on wheather or not it works. In any case good to see some more results finally coming out.
  22. So what is it about this proposal that makes it so much cheaper compared to other proposals.
  23. Well it is 18 degrees in tropical North Queensland so I don't know what you mean by hot.... I mean snow in Australia common.
  24. I think a better example would be a comparison between a semi trailer, a standard cat and a child's ride on toy car. Although comparisons can be between them there is obviously one which does not belong. I don't understand why people are calling for a more simple definition. The more simple the definition the more problems we have. For example if define a planet as a body with a raidus of more than 20'000km than what about a body with a raidus of 19'999km. Does that one kilometer really make a difference? Where do you draw the line. That's why we need more complex definitions not simpler.
  25. His videos are of of good quality and his reviews are actual reviews. It's not a bad channel.
