  1. To avoid structural elements on the outside of the rocket, if you look at that diagram you will see some sort of structure on the outside that the boosters have to avoid.
  2. Why? Because they didn't need the power of two boosters, why waste money on a second one when you only need one?
  3. If a realistic futuristic space simulator which could be described as a flight sim for space with proper orbital mechanics sounds appealing to you than go check out Rouge System. It's currently in very early access and you can get it for only $10 at the moment which doesn't grant access to the full release however if you do choose to upgrade you will be discounted how much you have already payed. It's basically been called the DCS worldof space.
  4. The VAB on my desk. NOW!
  5. There are other planets in KSP? Since when? In all seriousness the point is that for a lot of people (me included) the building part of the game is 99% of the experience. As Champ said the scope of KSP is so big that it would be impossible for Squad to satisfy the majority of the players on any single topic (aside from performance). Personally KSPs reliance on mods is not a weakness but instead a strength as it brings the community together.
  6. It was an imperfection, one of the seams around the airlock had a small manufacturing imperfection that was invisible to quality checks, the small imperfection compounded with the extended use of the airlock well over its life span lead to the failure.
  7. THE LACK OF NOSE CONES! WHY??? Ahhem, in anycase nice mission.
  8. As the airlock expands and contacts the seal which connects it to the HAB weakens. There was an imperfection in the canvas along the seal which connects the inner airlock to the HAB which then failed. The airlock stayed intact until it hit the ground.
  9. It doesn't matter how quickly the ship decompresses, they explained that in the book also, you get the same reaction either way.
  10. I'm partial towards tanks myself, mostly because bombers feel a bit too weak to me. Also losing all of my re-spawns to a single bullet each from an unseen aircraft nomatter if I'm at 4000m or 40m does get old.
  11. I'm watching the ads in the V Max showing of it now!
  12. So what time are you guys generally on? I'm in around midnight AEST normally.
  13. Can the devs just hurry up and add splash text to loading screens that just say "there is no such thing as cheating". Please. These threads are just getting tedious. ....I wonder if there is a mod for that
  14. Hey Clockwork13 have you posted something very similar to this before? Maybe last year or early this year? I'm not judging don't get me wrong just trying to figure out if i imagined it or not.
  15. Ok this is going to sound mean and blunt (because it is) but do you honestly think that it is worth the devs time and effort to implement this feature simply because you don't like to hit the revert button, which in the vast majority of cases would serve the same purpose. Does it really break your immersion that much that you can't say before a flight "ok this is just a sim flight" and allowing yourself to revert? Really, is it that bad. But what about other planets? I hear you say. I say what about them. If you want to know the conditions at a planet then send a probe. Use the upper atmosphere of Kerbin for aerobreaking practice if you have to. There are ways to get around it without even getting to mods. There are ways to get information about what a planets like and ways to test vehicles in the stock game. If you are open to mods then there are some as mentioned in this thread that you can use. Don't get me wrong if the devs implemented this into the game I wouldn't be opposed to it I simply don't see the point prioritising this when it seems to me at least, to be catered to the more hardcore player and not to the majority.
  16. And that feature is there to compensate for another feature of the mod, construction time. Which is a feature that the game doesn't have so what's the point.
  17. Ah ok. My Internet is currently down so once it is working i will join.
  18. So did you get a sitter? Did Natalie pull through? Goddammit man this is important!
  19. Sure! Viper7315 Edit Wait no. Try Dodgey
  20. I really want to ask you to expand on this concept of time not existing but at the same time i really don't want to.
  21. Sweet thanks. Considering what you said about ram prices I think that I might go all out and get two 8gb sticks to bump it up to 24gb. Or is there a cap at 16. I'm thinking that if I buy it now it will last me for quite a while. Edit: Ok so an unexpected problem has arisen. As I said my current set p consists of a laptop which connects to the internet via WIFI. To a modem in a completely different part of the house to my office. Running an Ethernet cable across the house and my office doesn't have a phone line connected to it. This basically leaves me with the only option being wireless. Does anybody have any advice on how to set this up with my new computer?
  22. Hey guys. So after getting a bit annoyed with my current laptop due to its complete lack of graphical capability I finally bit the bullet and bought my first tower from PC Case Gear. When buying it I wasn't too concerned with getting top of the line because all I needed was an upgrade from my current set up that I could expand on in the future. On to my question, what I want to know is on the scale of "why would you buy that" to "completly insane" where does my PC sit. Also once it arrives I'm thinking of putting some more ram into it and was looking for some advice as to what I should purchase.
