do you think there could ever be added a GPS target cycling feature where when ripple was enabled GPS guided weapons would cycle between viable targets? or you could select multiple GPS targets and either cycle between those or drop all available weapons on those targets (Similar to the radar cycling system)?

oh, im an idiot, that would be cool, but if you want to for it changes (hopefully) just use the Smart Parts mod to have the warhead be activated once it goes below a certen altitude, this is somewhat getto but it should tide you over until it changes

The project was called project thor(the one the gov did not do, not the one from cod) - - - Updated - - - Honestly I think it would be so much more epic to have it have a few second delay before foreign and make an epic electrical charging sound, and when it fires have it make a shrieking sound from the hypersonic round. Similar to the shrieking of the hypersonic explosive in theICBM minecraft mod.(if you don't know just look it up)

if their is only one ship in the area, yes. but if their is a fleet, the entire fleet has to do a burn and if their was only one ship there would be no reason to use a railgun aganst it unless it was huge. also you could fire mutible shots in areas that you would tink they would try to move to, predict where they are going to go and you might hit them they would have no idea what your shooting at. if you use guided projectiles, all you have to do is have them only start making corce correction when they get very close to the target so it dose not matter weather they can detect it.
-
you may be able to see the projectile being launched easily, but if the projectile can have simple hard to detect corse maneuvering thrusters that are hard to see, also even if you say the projectile launch, you don't know where its going and you cant just move an entire fleet and if you do, you will have wasted a lot of fuel not to mention railguns can be aimed in an area to predict where the enemy would try o move to and they would be unable to know wether they are moving in or out of fire. its the same as artillery, you can hear it fire from a long way a way, but you don't know where the shell will hit.
-
the projectiles could be guided, the railgun would be simply to get then to a rough intersect with the target, that the projectile would handle an minor changes that would be nessisary for it to hit its target
-
The rod of tungsten that is used in a railgun could be made invisible to most detection methods, plus it is very small. If properly aimed a rail gun could launch a projectile the opposite side of a planet and hit its target before anyone can do anything about it, to this day we can't track objects that small that are in orbit.
-
They are drones, that means they are remotely controlled, having them being remotely controlled means they have a human piotet so where else controlling it. Also if you wanted to hack a drone, you could not do it in the little time in which a battle would take place in, it is not like a game where you can just go on a computer for a few minutes and all of a sudden have control of the enemy ship. Also jamming radio signals is very hard to do, if it was, people would be doing it with us drones. Also why would a drone be limited to a few uses?
-
Depends on how high an orbit is it. railguns could be used to hit targets a close range, large targets (ie. Space Station) from long ranges
-
not if you plan it correctly, (ie sent it retrograde when you are in a high orbit) try it in ksp for yourself. maybe i post a video of kebar ballistics!
-
ballistic projectiles would encounter your target first, not your ship. that makes no sense. also, a railgun could be used a an excellent surface to orbit defence.
