Vagani, Can you transfer the ownership of the google group to me so that I can adjust some of the inner-most settings? (I am a very technical guy)
-
It must be the way that you set it up. My local robotics team uses it, and it works wonderfully. It you let me set one up, I can get it to work.
-
No, My idea with the google group is that whenever someone had a question/anouncement/comment/etc. they would post there, and a email with the information would shoot out to everyone involved in the project, notifying them. Also, we can keep accurate count of who is involved via who is in the group. The problem with a website is that people will have to manualy check it, and this may lead to more inactive users.
-
Just sent your emails to [email protected] may not like it because you are not in the groups but its worth a try. Also, it you want, try getting the chrome extension "ultrasurf" from the chrome webstore. It it works It should unblock everything.
-
I also vote jets. Also, announcements/news like this should be posted to the google group, so that everyone is getting the information faster, more reliably, and in a more organised fassion.

While I was reading the review that euro gamer recently have KSP, in which they said (in a gist) that "the tutorials should not exist as they give a glimpse of what it is like to make milestones", I thought that tutorials could be "unlockable". The idea behind this is that to unlock the tutorial on how to land on the mun, you first have to get into a stable orbit around the mun (in your career/science/sandbox save), and then you would receive a message that you unlocked the tutorial on how to land. There could b other milestones as well for other tutorials. Anyone else have an opinion on the idea, or a way that this could be done better?

Nice job. Just keep going!

Do we have a common form of communication that everyone can see and have access to, like a group email or something like that? I am figuring that at least half of the people that are "involved" in the project are not even available anymore. Also, If we had a group communication plan we would be able to actualy start writing the script.

I just stumbled across this project and would love to be part of this project. Job: editor Past experience: I have composed many videos as projects for my local school. I have access to adobe premier. I see that you already have a lot of video editors, so if I could be one of the final editors that passes over the project to look for places to tweak and improve the film that would be awesome. On another note, I think if someone could get in contact with the mod maker for improved camera controls, and see if you could get him to make a mod that allows you to control the camera via WASD, because that could make the pan shots really awesome. EDIT: the best way to contact me is though email EDIT: can I suggest that you edit the post that started this thread to include all of the decisions you have made in the past 300 posts? That will make it easier for many people (like me)

Nice job with the art! Looks great. On regards to the endurance, I agree. It was the first thing I thought of when I watched that sceene.

Mod count in 64 vs 32 versions?
tuckjohn replied to Jiraiyah's topic in KSP1 Gameplay Questions and Tutorials
(That is one long sentance!) KSP is still in unity 4, and will stay that way in 1.0 -
I posted something similar to this, then saw someone beat me too it. What he said^

That is what I thought. Thanks anyway though? EDIT: Any way I could see this post?

I recently got an email telling me about an update to the KSP anouncements thread that read this: Dear tuckjohn, You are subscribed to the forum Announcements, there have been 1 new thread(s) and 0 updated thread(s). http://forum.kerbalspaceprogram.com/forums/10-Announcements The following threads are new: ************ [Community] Forum Update http://forum.kerbalspaceprogram.com/threads/113583-Forum-Update In forum: Announcements Started by: KasperVld Last post: 20th March 2015 16:18 The following threads have been updated: All the best, Kerbal Space Program Forum Is this the poorly-executed April Fools joke this is discussed here? or is this something different? EDIT: For clarification, the link to the second post does not work.

That is exactly the problem- there was no way for the different groups of people to communicate with each other, and thus historians are puzzled. The (slightly crazy) theory that originated from the book series that I mentioned in my previous post: There was one relatively advanced city (Atlantis in the book) that got destroyed by a natural disaster and most of the citizens emigrated from there and ended up all over the globe, where they attempted to create their own civilizations/cities. This is where you have to define "time travel", because technically we are moving "forward" in time. Also on the topic of possible ways to travel back in time is that you have a cylinder where it is spinning (really, really, really fast, so fast that the face at near the speed of light), then you would take a spaceship and then fly against the "flow" of spacetime created by the rotating matter, thus going backward in time. The is one (slight) problem with this: the cylinder would have to be infinitely tall. EDIT: I just thought of a way around this- take the spinning cylinder and bend it so that it forms a torus, and keep it spinning. Yes, that would have a problem with the inside being shorter then the outside, but I imagine some kind of piston-setup to allow the contracting and expanding of "edges" of the torus.

All of those dates are withing ~3000 years of each other, which on a timeline of the earth, is relatively small. Why did all of these civilizations appear at relatively the same time without any kind of communication with each-other? Currently the leading ("sane") theory is that naturally human evolution caused the civilizations to emerge because all humans had the need for civilization at the (relatively) same time. I would like to also point out a really good book series that I read that deals with that^ issue, and other unexplained "things" (everything from the pyramids to "foo fighters" from WW2). The "Area 51" series by Bob Mayer. Yes, it has a cheesy title, and yes, it is filled with conspiracies, and yes, it is a really good read. I will warn any readers that the beginning pages chuck a lot of names and characters at you, but then very little is introduced in the following pages/books. EDIT: A link to the book series for the lazy: http://www.amazon.com/gp/feature.html?ie=UTF8&docId=1000869311

It is true(Go here and scroll down to the chart at the bottom), and I am just pointing out that it is an unexplained occurrence. Who knows? Possibly the time travelers pushed civilization into existence in multiple places at roughly the same time in order to allow to their own existence...

Signs would start to show up? I bring you the 7 great wonders of the ancient world. I bring you extra-terrestrial-like UFOs (not weather balloons). I bring you the free masons. And finally I bring you the fact that first civilizations appeared everywhere on the planet within a 100 year period.

Custom hardware control/switch panel - simpit WIP
tuckjohn replied to Mulbin's topic in KSP Fan Works
I have a few questions for you mulbin as I am thinking about takeing upon a similar project: 1. What microcontroler are you useing(if any)? 2. What do you use to to cut the aluminum? 3. What are the mods that you have installed on KSP to make it compatible with your microcontroler? 4. Are you soldering your wires or are you doing something else? 5. What are are you useing to make those ultra-pretty labels? 6. Lastly, any tips you could give to someone wanting to take upon a similar project? -
You guys are conversing on the balance of the tech tree, but I would not be worried about that now, as Squad is going to be re-balancing all of the parts in the next update. This would most likely through off the balance of things like what engines should come after what. Also, I think that the order that parts, like the landing legs, should be medium and then small and large, but the large requiring an upgrade to the R+D facility.

A more intuitive tech tree
tuckjohn replied to CaptainKipard's topic in KSP1 Suggestions & Development Discussion
I feel like while this is a great Idea, It just does not fit into the spectrum of KSP, in terms of this would be a too "complex" of a game mechanic. -
A more intuitive tech tree
tuckjohn replied to CaptainKipard's topic in KSP1 Suggestions & Development Discussion
I do not think that this is off topic, considering that we are talking about science here Also, I think that that is a great idea for a mod to add, as it would add a complexity to the game that is not really needed -
A more intuitive tech tree
tuckjohn replied to CaptainKipard's topic in KSP1 Suggestions & Development Discussion
That is actually a really good idea! I would assume that the devs would use a green background instead of the grey one that is present in the VAB, but otherwise that is a great idea! I wonder if there is any devs reading this....
