  1. You are using an outdated KSP and RSS. Upgrade to the newest version if you expect support.
  2. @kitspace: The ONLY relation to your issue and Real Solar System is the fact that depending on which texture pack you are using with RSS the memory requirement grows substantially. You only need ONE of the packs, each contains all you need in various resolutions. Note, you are also capable of mixing and matching textures. At this time I'm using the largest for Earth, Moon, and Mars, while using the smallest textures for other planets. You've gotten several hints and tips to resolve your issue. I WILL REPEAT, this is NOT related to RSS (besides texture size).
  3. So you want realism (you did choose RSS, FAR, DRE, RT2, etc), but you can't handle realism. All simplicity to the statement aside. There is very little added complexity with RealFuels, with a simple push of a button tanks can be filled the correct proportion of fuel required for the engine you choose. Replicas already have their tanks filled. I would not be too concerned with that. The limited throttling is a change most aren't prepared for. Between that and limited restarts it does add complexity. Other than those two, you pretty much are running everything required for RO anyway. This issue you will run into is that generally speaking, stock masses are pretty well in line with real world figures. While sizes are about 1/3 too small. Objects are more dense than real life. So when you go full scale, now suddenly especially atmospheric flight, things become dangerous and people die, ships are destroyed, etc. So resizing objects is pretty well required across the board, which RO does. Just because you 'play for fun' doesn't mean you can't be realistic while you do it. Once you get over the fact you can't throttle an engine as much, it's still fun. I honestly think what you equate to 'fun' is really something like "I want it easy". Because really, your 'fun' level doesn't decrease because an engine is either on or off. Seriously though. You WILL become a BETTER PLAYER by using RO, so much that 'stock' won't be fun anymore and will be 'too easy'. Get RO, actually try it for 2 weeks. If that doesn't change your mind, I'll pay for your copy of RO.
  4. Realism Overhaul is designed specifically with RSS in mind, why don't you want to use it? Furthermore FAR is all but required for RSS, which leads to massive problems with stock weights and sizes.
  5. @kitspace: You can get over it and start uninstalling things to bring your memory requirement down. Better ATM configs maybe. Delete parts you don't use from bigger mod packs. Smaller texture sizes for things. What ever you do, you need to stop posting in the RSS thread about your memory problems.
  6. You really should consider reading the first post before you go making redundant suggestions. It's been there for some time now.
  7. This has already been added to the stock Mk1-2 and Mk1, will be in the next release. Why is stock, stock, because 'reaction wheels' make things easy and playable. They actually do exist, usually found on satellites or space telescopes that must remain in a fixed attitude precisely. The ISS has at least 3 of them as well.
  8. @tater: I've added a question to the FAQ that specifically talks about tanks to avoid the confusion from now on. Enjoy! Generally speaking, RO is a mega-mod, modifying all those others to perform more realistic. It can be a challenge, keeping up with so many mods. I wasn't aware RLA had been updated, substantially at that, until a person filed a report. I try to keep up, but the number of mods involved, things being missed happen.
  9. @BadRocketsCo.: Ok, troubleshoot 101. Install fresh KSP, install latest RO and dependencies as listed in the OP ONLY, install latest NP2. Try it. Let me know. If you are still having problems, grab the latest RO_NovaPunch_Engines.cfg from the git repo, try it again.
  10. @MaxP: I asked you to read the OP, why, because this is clearly stated: Of which both FASA and OLDD are listed. This issue and many others with FASA and OLDD have been brought to my attention time and time again, and my answer every time has been be patient I haven't made progress on those mods yet, when I do, all will be taken care of. You failed to see any of this. So yes, I'm going to be cranky. I appreciate people reporting issues, don't get me wrong, but when the same thing OR related issues are constantly mentioned, that's when I take issue. I'll be honest, your decision to post a severely degraded, unrealistic RSS config for Soviet work that simply has payload as a goal has given me a poor first impression and kinda gives RO a bad name when you use it. Wildly defend your config and how awesome it is, then with you coming on our thread and pointing out our flaws, which we have already acknowledged if you had only read, followed by not providing the correct report the first time just furthers that impression. Have a good day. @FreeThinker: That is a distinct possibility, once the mod is more mature and bug free, even by the authors comment he needs to spend some time with it. It hasn't been touched in months.
  11. Let me spell it out for you. FASA AND OLDD ARE NOT SUPPORTED AT THIS TIME.
  12. @MaxP: You obviously haven't read it and understood it.
  13. @MaxP: How about you read and follow directions of the VERY FIRST POST in it's entirety.
  14. Work is continuing. If you've paid attention to git, updates have been made nearly every day minus about a week stretch I was on vacation. With 0.25 on it's way shortly I've held back from another release. Currently working on SDHI/AJKD/Taurus. Once that's done I can issue a release (likely last 0.24.2 release). They'll be some stock changes for 0.25 and when that is done I'll release another update.
  15. I will add a note on the OP stating that the computer is not working at this time, but I will not provide a link to an old version of anything.
  16. Correct, the ullage solid rockets were different and not a part of the APS itself.
  17. There were not 3 APS pods. In fact the APS on the SIB and the SV were different.
  18. Honestly if you simply model things correctly for realism, you can nerf it for playability all you want with configs, then it's simply a matter of making a config for realism, which Dragon, NK, or myself can do. They key is the model, with good transforms for RCS and engine thrust. With configs you can make things real or playable.
  19. ModuleRCSFX will solve all those problems. One must ensure that the CoM is also correct, otherwise it won't work either. If you model it. I will do all cfg work needed to make it work.
  20. Great! Please also add to the list Apollo CM RCS fixes. 1. Add 2 pairs of roll thrusters. Each pair about 45 degrees from either side of the side hatch. 2 thrusters firing to opposite sides on the same pod. 2. Move the top RCS pod to the other side. Both RCS pods for pitch are on the same side as the side hatch. This can be done by simply taking the top half of the CM (all that covered by the forward heat shield) and rotating it 180 degrees.
  21. This never has been a FASA problem. It's RealChute, specifically, just the ModuleManager config for FASA in RealChute. Before the MM patches were zipped and a user had to extract them, now, they come unzipped, and apply themselves. One now has to either modify or delete the RealChute MM patches contained within RealChutes entirely.
  22. One's orbit is determined by it's mission. GPS sats are set to provide min coverage of x number of sat seen at anyplace/anytime. Sun Sync orbits are used a lot for earth observation, geo sync orbits to put them in a stationary place as observed from earth and provide coverage to a certain area of the earth.
  23. Do me a favor, don't uninstall anything. Test things again and give me a slightly more detailed and accurate idea of what YOU see. Activate the engine, make sure the gimbal is turned on, (if you right click the part, there should be two "lock gimbal" buttons). Try and change attitude, the rocket should change attitude, the exhaust animation won't move, the engine itself will, but the rocket will change attitude.
  24. @Novasry: What does asteroid spawning have to do with RO?
