I won't do that. No fun. HA! In fact for every 1 hour flight I have 2+ hours of moving fuel around, and travel time.

Flying down a river.
-
The small asteroid theory is the most exciting.
-
I was continuing my river survey (Still haven't made it to the mouth yet to look at the possible impact site) but I did find something rather interesting at the end of a dry river bed right before I had to turn back and refuel. I'll start with the oxbow I spoke of last post and end with the discovery at the end of the river bed. Approach to crater like depression. Might even be many craters lumped together, or possibly a volcanic area?

I am doing a flight down this river right now. Starting from the base. I ran out of fuel before I got to this part and had to return to KSC 2. So, here is part one. I took the left at this juncture and followed it back around to the end. Had to return for fuel. I don't like to fuel cheat, personal rule. Looking back, opposite direction of flight, pretty steep sides. the end is near. I will pick up where I left off soon. Looks like once I go right down the main branch that there are some really interesting looking features. Maybe even an oxbow.

Volcano yes, super volcano, not so sure but is possible I guess. Not much of a caldera, more like an old dormant crater. In my game I named it Mt. Krakums because it does kind of remind me of Krakatoa.

I refueled River Runner I after flying it to KSC 2. Preparing for my river run.

There is a very distinct depression. I took some more shots after driving closer. Fast growing trees!!! I was here like an hour ago and it was barren.

Nothing ever gets done in meetings. So, I threw together a plane and flew to the volcanic/impact island thingy that is north of KSC. Here are some good screens to help continue the debate. Approach.(Gratuitous pics of my impromptu plane included for free, and yes the landing gear suck and it's a constant struggle to get off the ground) The next screens will be from all angles without much reference. I was flying approximately ENE, but that doesn't help much when I started spinning the camera around. Looking northish. Next 3 after I crossed island and looking back. This 3rd one has some good terrain detail. I then turned around and landed near the middle and took some from as close to cardinal directions as I could. Looking North: East: South: West: I am leaving Jeb and the plane on the island for now if anyone wants a different or more specific view.

F9, f9. Great gawd almighty f9!

Makes me wonder though because it seems like the same happens to me and I am ok at landing. I think when I try to land at KSP I'm usually doing a flight test and just completed a hard turn and am in the process of lining up the runway and all that which results in a hurried attempt to land on the runway. When I am landing from a mission or long flight I am focused and lined up way ahead of time, reducing speed, watching descent speed closely, etc. Easing into it, if you will.

KSP 2.0 - What would you expect (or wish) for a sequel?
Bigbootie replied to carlorizzante's topic in KSP1 Discussion
Ok I concede that the ability for co-op would definitely be fun. But MMO, no way. However I would be fine with any of this if they fix and enhance the base game first and leave each game mode as a seperate option. -
Multiplayer dev. request.
Bigbootie replied to KSP Bro AE's topic in KSP1 Suggestions & Development Discussion
Precisely. And by saying most people suck, I didn't mean to say that they suck at the game, I'm not judging anyone's gaming skills, people just suck in general. -
So what did you name your space program?
Bigbootie replied to The Flame Cat's topic in KSP1 Discussion
My save name is Aaaaaaaaaa but I think I just hit a random key repeatedly. -
Multiplayer dev. request.
Bigbootie replied to KSP Bro AE's topic in KSP1 Suggestions & Development Discussion
The problem with multiplayer or MMO is that most people suck. So if Squad could figure out how to do multiplayer and basically not have any people trying to all talk to me and stuff, I'm all for it. -
KSP 2.0 - What would you expect (or wish) for a sequel?

I hope they never put one second of development time into any kind of multiplayer/MMO anything ever, ever, ever. -
Just some cool screens I had leftover. Something to post until I can work on my existing or next project.

More base parts. What I like about this next screenshot is that in the past I could never have this many craft with this many parts in close proximity without some pretty severe lag. 64 bit cured all of that. Not the slightest bit of lag and there are several other craft outside of this screen.

Built another cargo plane for wide load delivery to my KSP 2 base. Actually a lot easier to deal with than the cargo carrier design but each has it's unique uses. I went through several different design tweaks before final flights of 2 different missions. Built a trolley system for base modules and saved it to my sub assemblies. Landed, taxi to position, dropped base hub. Then parked, hooked up fuel node for later refuel. You may notice all of the parachutes I put on this thing. My initial plan was to air drop the cargo and let the drone plane crash and burn. My reasoning was that, landing sucks. At least, my previous landing attempts with my cargo plane sucked and usually ended with far less parts attached to the plane than was intended. I did a few successful air drops on test runs at KSP, worked like a charm. But, for whatever reason, I decided to land this one and it turned out to handle better than any other plane I have built.

With the mobile drill delivered it was time for the habitat testing. After several 'splosions and many, many deaths, some modifications were needed for the cargo plane. It actually worked. Landed the plane "safely" a couple miles and a couple engines shorter than I started with. Side note. As long as I have been playing it never occured to me that KSP 2 was in a huge K depression. I like tacos.
-
More photos from my endeavor to populate KSP 2. Lost a couple engines on the landing.
-
Finally made a cargo plane and refueler and flew the whole kit to KSP 2.
-
Built a cargo plane. New wheels made it annoying. Strapped a couple Thumpers to it an did this instead.

I usually overbuild a lifter that is capable of carrying an enormous transfer stage and payload and then fly it for everything until I get bored with it. I do this because I don't usually want to spend time docking things together or refueling so it lets me put everything up at once even if I have a few different phases for a mission. Stupidly overpowered lifters with tons of struts and parts. Yay! At times, I've ended up flying my "standard lifters" almost all the way to my target planets before dumping them and leaving my transfer stage in orbit nearly full.

If you start from the top and read these posts quickly it is actually quite hilarious. maybe it's just me.
