  1. Seeing as the Hubble Space Telescope picked it up quite clearly, and it is a visible light telescope, than it would appear that the bright spot is an area of very high reflectivity. It could be that surface ice was covered up from many years of accumulated dust, until a recent meteor impact uncovered a large chunk of the ice.
  2. It will probably be fusion power. Really, really far into the future might mean antimatter or some other new found exotic energy generation.
  3. I'm not certain about that, but the facial expressions seem to be tied to them, since (as you've probably seen in the past) Jeb gets much less freaked out than Bob, who gets much less freaked out that Bill.
  4. I think it's for when Kerbals will be able to pilot craft themselves, and when Kerbals can gain skill(s) based on experience. All it seems to do for now is just determine when certain emotions happen (I think).
  5. As far as I have observed, it kills rotation.
  6. While compared to real life engines, they are much more powerful, as far as game balance is concerned, they seem to be alright.
  7. If I have massive rotational problems, than I will throw a few on, but the crafts are usually so large that I need half a dozen to kill the rotation. A more powerful 2.5 meter SAS module might help.
  8. Sentience in computers is a debate in it of itself, as many would say that such an achievement is impossible without actually having the computer synthesize all of the relevant brain chemicals. As for your question, it will probably be limited to math, physics modelling, and manufacturing. The human spirit of piloting craft, and risking life and limb for thrill and glory will keep all of the craft in our world from being pilotless. This isn't to say that a major government's military will convert all of their military to drones, but overall there will still be some human piloted machines in the world, because humans want to control things themselves.
  9. I feel that this would be the worst problem to deal with. Funny story about this idea though. Before rockets in KSP needed an oxidizer, I put a mainsail engine on the back of a conventional jet-liner style plane, and the force of the acceleration ripped the wings off instantly. I needed a webbing of struts to keep the wings on.
  10. Kerbal is the race, and/or the demonym for the country/continent that they live in.
  11. In astrophysics, much of the physics is unknown, as the matter being modeled is under such high densities, and at very high temperatures, plus we cannot directly observe the processes going on to model them accurately.
  12. If it isn't too much trouble, could you link, or at least name those theories for me to research?
  13. I just watched a video explaining what anti-matter is, and the studies being done to determine if the anti-particles are exactly equal to their counter-parts. One question that the narrator stated science wants to answer is "why is the universe mainly matter, and not anti-matter?". Isn't that a silly question to ask, because if the universe was primarily anti-matter, wouldn't we (in the alternate reality) consider it to be normal matter, and thereby consider what we (in this reality) consider normal matter to be anti-matter?
  14. True, true. I was, admittedly unscientifically, defining lag as being visual. That is to say, the game lags so much that it appears to be individual frames.
  15. I thought that the Schordinger principle was more along the lines of: "There CAN be multiple states, but only one is true, therefore all of the possibilities must be simultaneously viewed upon as true until further evidence is given".
  16. Uh... I have less ram, and a worse video card, with the same CPU, and I don't lag until after 350.
  17. Are you sure that your CM isn't flipped 180 degrees?
  18. Jets don't work in the atmosphere of Duna, because it contains no oxygen. Jet engines only work in Laythe and Kerbin's atmosphere.
  19. Well, it is theorized that the four forces were once one superforce, and that the cooling of the universe split them apart, so I wonder if different cooling times could create different physics in different universes. Analogous to how you can get many different types of stone simply by how quickly lava cools.
  20. Here's one I decided to do after I took a cool picture of the Vall Easter egg.
  21. The problem is, as I understand it, the game engine, which Squad isn't changing.
  22. When the only limiting factor to what can go on a space station, is your computer not being able to run all of the parts.
