Can't right-click
scribbleheli replied to Netskimmer's topic in KSP1 Technical Support (PC, modded installs)
I run into this problem a bunch. Only mod we have in common is stage recovery. If I switch vessel, I am able to right click again. -
I went to play 1.0.5 and discovered I couldn't transmit any science. I thought for sure it was "Antenna range" causing the issue. Process of elimination caused me to delete Science alert and it worked again. Poor toadicus, I made him believe his mod was broken .lol He did offer help if xEvilReeperx is interested in contacting him.

Right. I just...where did I look that only showed .23 version... Oh, it was the first thing on google. I wonder what version I have been using then.. I just checked that tread, and it seems that they other users reported the same problem. So hopefully in time it will be updated, I discovered just how much I rely on that damn thing once i lost it. Thanks for the help!

FOUND IT! Took a while.. because alphabet... Science alert caused the issue. No idea how or why, but after process of elimination. Removing it allowed science to transmit. If anyone has hints as how I can patch it myself, that would be great since it hasn't been updated since .23 I am in my first semester of C++ at school. So the level of noob is high. Thanks for the attempted help!

Ill Try and explain best I can. And do more detective work when I get home. Essentially, I have a Career game started in 1.0.4. I have an MPL/Station in orbit of Minmus, and one landed on Minmus as a biome hopper. I updated to 1.0.5, and updated all available mods which wasn't many. I transferred my saves and the required mods to my new 1.0.5 install (just the game breaking ones, that deleted my ship because a part was missing) at once. I figured I would have issues until all the mods got updated. Started my game, went immediately to my orbital station. I right clicked on my MPL, and saw that it had 499/500 science. I clicked transmit, nothing happened. No dialog, no electric charge was used, no science gained. My antenna didn't open. I did a Goo experiment, when the dialog popped up I click transmit. The dialog went away but again, nothing else happened. My probes and such still work. I have pretty green lines. Connection and control of ones in deep space. But I can't transmit ANY science. Science is recoverable if I land back at Kerbin. Ill update all available mods tonight again. And add everything one by one until it breaks. That will likely take a while.

Yey! Hopefully this fixed my issue of my mobile processing labs being unable to transmit science. So far nothing happens when I click the button Also, things got awkward when Valentina kerman went down to the minmus base in a small lander to collect the science from my mobile lab rover. And her doppelganger Valentina kerman brought the science out to her to take back to kerbin. They took a photo together but sadly Valentina the rover drive was taken by the kraken before I could get her safely back inside.. Rip V^2

I downloaded the latest release and installed that (I download here at work and flash drive it home) then disabled the need connections for probe part so I could finish rescuing Alfrod Kerman from the Muns south pole. I will try this latest Dev build and try and get screens. Will the output log be labeled as the day I was playing? Never dug into that side of KSP before.

So I am having issues... I think. It could just be inexperience though. I have 3 ComSats in orbit around the Mun at something like 150km. All equipped with 3, Dts-M1 and 3, Communitron 16s (mostly for cool looking-ness) And a rover on the surface with the Comm-16. The rover keeps breaking connection with my sats, so I loose control. When I check the map. I always had a direct clear line of site to at least one sat. And that sat can clearly see another MunSat that is in view of kerbin. I also have the same 3 types of sat in GeoOrbit of kerbin. Iv also notice I loose connection with my sats around the Mun when it hits the dark side of the Mun. I thought this mod supported relay communications. So I must be missing some key piece of enlightening information. Ideas or suggestions? I would do screens, But my home PC has no internet access.

I upgraded to 1.5.5. And finally got my stages recovered. But now I'm on to bigger rockets. And am de orbiting lifters for clean sky's. They burn up on reentry. I'm used to the engines being both heavy and fireproof (used FAR and DE before). Do I need a heat shield just on the stage someplace so that the game/plug-in can see it's got heat shielding. So it's not automatically destroyed when it hits atmo going 2km/s I think that if I was watching the stage it would survive fine.
-
I am also having issues with stage recovery I think. I have zero successful recoveries of my stages, when I am in the VAB and have added my chutes. I click the SR button to find out what my recovery percentage will be. It tells me something like 98%. But every single one has been destroyed. Can anyone point to ways to successfully recover in the new 1.0.2?

CPU Performance Database
scribbleheli replied to DMagic's topic in KSP1 Suggestions & Development Discussion
I began building my current computer in the summer of 08. Got a decent cpu (the i7 920), pittily amount of ddr3. A cheap video card (Ati 4850?). And dropped a chunk on my Mobo. So I could slowly upgrade it and "future Proof" myself. I added some fans, did very mild overclock, and left it alone till roughly last year where I added a GTX 760 4GB windforce GPU, H100i Water cooler and upped the overclock. Then got some 64 &480GB ssds at different times. my plan was to get better CPUs for this MOBO when the prices came down (moores law) but *&$#(%& changed sockets. So, now I'm looking to start building my next PC. I think 7 years is pretty good run for a technology that is outdated every 6 months.. -

I remember back in the day, everyone was trying to build "Crysis Killer" computers. Now my focus is how big a ship I can build in KSP. -

Does your FPS plugin work in .90? along with the test ship? I have CPU limited set up i think. But I also plan on upgrading soon. So I wanted to...find the limit. I also just installed Ubuntu, specifically so I could us KSP on 64 bit, But I know nothing of Linux and getting that FPS program seemed daunting(I failed to install Java so that nvida could detect my GPU for drivers, That's the level of noob) Any who, I wanted to run the windows version and linux on an stock CPU, and stable overclock, then OUTLANDISH OC on both OS's Core i7 920 ( stock configured at the 965 settings of 3.2ghz) Liquid Cooled Asus rampage 2 extreme OC MoBo GTX 760 4GB Windforce 480 GB SSD Gskull 8 GB 1600 ram. 1200w PS The Asus Maximus 7 Formula and I7 4970k Will be replacing my 920 -
I must just be really terrible at this game. I just had to build a 790+ part on launch rocket, to send my 3 kerbals, lander and 2 rovers (93t and 250+ parts itself) to duna. I just made it, But my rovers are literately lost in space. I think I cam out of time warp. Quicksaved and come back to it and they are gone....
