Tested with 1.3 & updated please report any problems. (They seem unlikely, this is probably the simplest possible part mod) -

Ok, done, please tell if there are any problems. -
I think the small asteroids should have their own category in the R&D archives, instead of being categorized by the SOI where the asteroid was when the sample was taken. Maybe have separate category for the ones that spawn arount Dres and other for the ones that spawn around Kerbol.

At the moment at least Eeloo isn't really an Europa analog, in the future it might be, but the would make it a moon. If we count the names of moons, the only one in the with name similar to the real one is the Mun. Maybe they aren't so bad, but I think at least one could start with an different letter, since first letters are very important our perception of words. Part of the problem for me personally may be that in my native language the name of Saturn is "Saturnus"...

How would you improve Career Mode?
Joonatan1998 replied to Lightzy's topic in KSP1 Suggestions & Development Discussion
Realistically, I think it is unlikely they will make large changes to the science/funds/reputation system. So I suggest something I posted before: I think the problem with the current system is that it encourages grinding instead of progress. The rewards for visiting another biome are the same as the rewards for visiting a new planet, this is especially noticeable on minmus because it has lots of biomes even though it is relatively small. I think the first biome you land in should give large rewards (larger than in the current version) , and every biome on the same planet after that would give less science than the previous one. The player would still have the freedom to choose, but the choises would be more balanced. -
It seems like the game progress tracking might consider solar orbit probes to be much more lategame than they are.

Maybe add an slider to tweak the amount of sciece in kerbin system in comparison to other planets? But that wouldn't really fix anything. I have not tested it, but since it is pretty much the simplest possible part mod it probably works. -
Change SC-9001 Science Jr to 0.625m
Joonatan1998 replied to klesh's topic in KSP1 Suggestions & Development Discussion
I like the fact that not all experiments are tiny things trivial to just slap on a craft. -
I don't know how I didn't notice Dres and Ceres... I think I just looked at the first letters. I was talking specifically about planets, because most moons in stock don't really have an obivious analog. That mean that adding 3 planets with names so similar to the real ones (2 first letters) would fit, one or even 2 of them could have such names, but not all 3.

When kerbals go on dangerous missions, locking them into a tiny pod where they can only see out trough a tiny window is unethical. They risk their lives and can't even enjoy the view. Always use the PPD-12, or even better, the EAS-1

I think the OPM planets are too obiviously analogs to real planets to fit the stock system that well. I mean: Stock: Moho, Eve ,Kerbin, Dres, Jool, Eeloo. Only Jool is even somewhat similar to the name of the real planet. OPM: Sarnus, Urlum, Neidon All of those names are similar to the real ones. The colors of the OPM gas giants all similar to the real planets, unlike stock.

I agree that the xenon tanks could be buffed, but I dislike the fact that they are making all tanks exactly as mass efficient as all others. I think having to sacrifice a small amount of mass-efficiency in exchange for the flexibility given by smaller tanks would be an interesting gameplay feature.

The largest jet engine is pretty useless, there is almost no situation where you couldn't get better results by using several small engines. It is almost purely an decorative part.

More planets for KSP
Joonatan1998 replied to Alphard's topic in KSP1 Suggestions & Development Discussion
Asteroid belts should be relatively easy (compared to rings/axial tilt), main problem would be running out of ram. Rings are completely different, in asteroid belts even small rocks are very distant from each other, hundreds of kilometres, in rings the distances are often just metres.- 30 replies

More planets for KSP
Joonatan1998 replied to Alphard's topic in KSP1 Suggestions & Development Discussion
Saturn analog woluld be nice, but the rings would have to be well implemented. Something like random spawning of asteroids near the ship that are the deleted when they go more than a few km away from the ship, to avoid having to track 10000000 ring particles. Ships passing through the rings from the thicker parts at high speeds could just be destroyed. It would be a lot of work and probably very laggy. Uranus analog really needs axial tilt.- 30 replies
