  1. Fantastic! I never really thought about asking, honestly. If you really want to go overboard, some kind of same orbital body alignment automation would be neat for those of us into that sort of thing, though I'm not sure if an automated mechjeb process could stand up to the degree of precision needed to actually align things... Thanks for all your hard work on this mod
  2. I'll check the logs, the reason I was looking at both was for KSP interstellar relay network setup. I'm having trouble with my relays drifting after a hundred days or so, despite my best efforts at getting them aligned. VOID displays just a bit more information in that regard, though I think at this point I'm just going to get my relays into reasonable positions and then hyperedit them into the right spot.
  3. Is MJ compatible with Vessel Orbital Information Display (VOID)? I loaded both up together and noticed the dV window in MJ is no longer showing any information
  4. Is Vessel Orbital Information Display sufficient for that? Trying to avoid more part mods, even if KER only has one or two
  5. I'm going back to the drawing board on my relay satellite network. Earlier I placed 3 satellites in a 1000 km orbit over Kerbin. I made sure they were 120 degrees apart (not exactly, but +-1 or less), made their AP and PE very close (and of course, they were in circular, equatorial orbits). Then I made small burns so that they all appeared to have the exact same orbital period, down to the second, as reported by MechJeb (I didn't put engineer on these ships, though I will during the relaunch if that is recommended). All was well, and during standard warping everything worked fine, but during a transfer to Jool, everything, once again, got all wonky and one of my satellites noticeably drifted, because, I'm guessing, MechJeb is limited to reporting orbital period by the second and maybe it's not accurate for this purpose? I couldn't figure a way to get the semi-major axis to display, so I haven't matched those. Can anyone assist?
  6. Thanks for answering my questions. Huge help! Just for reference I was able to get MJ to display the target phase angle and orbital information, you just have to tweak the custom windows a bit. I'm not sure if engineer would be a better option, but this worked and all of mine are almost exactly 120 degrees, which is good enough. Now to test the system...!
  7. I'm attempting my first microwave relay network (thanks to the guide on the Wiki) and I had a few questions. First, as a KSPI newbie in general, I'm noticing that the power transmission from the 3 nukes I placed in LKO is fluctuating (and decreasing). Is this normal? I used Uranium in the reactor, I have 8 huge deployable radiators, and a 3.75m fission reactor and generator on each one, along with one microwave transceiver. Second, for the relay satellites, all I need, along with obvious stuff like a probe core to control it and an engine and fuel to maneuever it into place, is the microwave transceiver set to relay, right? I have that set up, but my satellite isn't saying its connected despite being at 700km orbit, and the nukes placed at 100km orbit Finally, for the relay network part of this, does anyone have any tips on getting the placement precise. Is there a display in mechjeb or somewhere else that will help me figure out if I'm at the correct relative angle?
  8. I'm getting very little memory reduction, especially compared to texture reduction packs. Using latest version 2-7 aggressive, I get 348mb memory saved according to the log file. Running interstellar, KW rocketry, kethane, MJ, infernal robotics, FAR, and procedural fairings.
  9. Has anyone noticed MJ miscalculating burn times for simple maneuver nodes (hohman transfers, circularizations, etc). Latest dev version seems to be starting burns significantly later than before (resulting in a lopsided distribution of thrust relative to the node)
  10. Any chance we could see the science tools get a sweep to allow them to be collected while in EVA (like the stock science tools)?
  11. I got it fixed. Not really sure what was wrong but a complete wipe and re-install of all the relevant files and now it works. Go figure. So, I'm getting terminal velocity and everything, which is awesome. Sometimes it seems a bit not right but definitely a huge improvement. One thing I'm noticing is that control surfaces are seriously wonky. Not sure if it's a design flaw on my part or what, but on a test with some winglets (for a craft I can, myself, put into orbit with FAR easily), MJ started wildly over-adjusting and compensating right off the pad. Had to go to work, so I couldn't test it further. I'm still a KSP scrub, and only recently got FAR and MJ, too (after doing pretty much everything unmodded) - my FAR rocket design skills are rubbish. Will investigate further tomorrow
  12. I may be missing something on the install, but I can't seem to get these plugins to work. I'm not getting any FAR support (terminal velocity is still exponentially growing and completely wrong), and I also don't have a toolbar config option. (toolbar issue has been sorted, so the plugin is working, but I am most definitely not getting any FAR support as far as I can tell) The optional modules are extracted right into the directory like you would assume. KSP\Game Data\MechJeb2\Plugins\ and that's where I have 3 separate plugin files. Mechjeb2.dll MechjebFARExt.dll and Mechjebmenutoolbar.dll --- theres also a plugin config folder and an icons folder. I'm using the latest version of the toolbar on the forums 1.3.0 Latest version of module manager 1.5.6 and the latest dev version of MJ2 (150) any thoughts on what might be going wrong?
  13. Well, if you're asking about the modules within mechjeb, they are there. If you are playing career, you'll need to unlock a specific tech for it to show up, though. For which one, I would google mechjeb career tech tree or some such and that should get you a reference.
  14. A quick question about the ISRU and resource gathering... I'm having a ton of issues designing anything with the ISRU attached. The attachment points are very difficult to get working, and even when I can get the things I want attached on both ends it seems like a very awkward thing to try and attach to a rover or lander. Is this working as intended? Either way, if anyone has any tips or suggestions on how to build something usable with that part, I'd love to hear it. My original intent was to build an aluminum hybrid rocket based probe and have it tool around on the moon, but after an hour or so of trying to construct something feasible in the VAB I pretty much gave up.
