I'm a little confused.. Months ago when I played this regularly I generally had to test, test and re-test SSTO's. Please do not confuse this with bragging. I threw this together with little thought (just having some fun) and it made orbit with almost no effort. What gives?

Just enjoying the scenery.

Numerous times in my recent time with the game I've had this happen. I will EVA my astronaut only to have him go flying off the pod. Some said that this is mainly with the MK-1 pod but I have personally witnessed it happen with others as well. It is random and it is infuriating. Especially when I have to EVA several times to get low orbit readings.

My newest Pet Peeve (and the one that will cause me to not play this for a further 2 months or so until fixed) is the ejection bug. So tired of stressing over this.

Thanks very much.

Hello. I'm wondering if anyone could help me to make my career mode into more of a Science Mode with contracts. Basically, I want the Funds in Career mode to be endless. One contract awards millions. Is there a simple way to alter funds gained beyond 1000%? Thank you.
-
Anyone else not really care for the career stuff?
Jas1126 replied to sedativechunk's topic in KSP1 Discussion
I personally like career mode but I bump up the funds to 1000% because I don't like the new currency, but I do like a sense of progression and the contracts. If science mode had its own form of contracts then I'd play that. -
I absolutely love the challenges that Eve provides.

What would you want in the next update (0.90)?
Jas1126 replied to EvilotionCR2's topic in KSP1 Discussion
A slider to adjust time constraints on contracts would be nice. Also, more detailed tooltips on game settings would be greatly appreciated. -
Thanks very much for the tips. Still, I would love to see a functioning design or two if anyone has it.

Hello. I have tried time and time again to make a proper rocket (Launch stage with a space plane attached to the side) but I can never get it to fly straight. I have come close but it's still an immense struggle to keep it pointed upward. How do you go about balancing it? I have tried putting useless parts here and there to try and get the weight equalized to no avail. Would somebody have a couple of working examples that I can study that used stock parts? Thank you.

In a scale of 1 through 6, how efficient are you?
Jas1126 replied to Commissioner Tadpole's topic in KSP1 Discussion
Depends, really. Once in a while I'll focus solely on efficiency as a personal challenge. Other times I go all out lunatic. More often than not I put only a little thought in it and tend to surprise myself with having just enough fuel to carry out my current goal. Countless times I'll find myself using my little remaining fuel just for kicks. -
I'm a noob, but isn't the 'outsource R&D' ridiculously OP?
Jas1126 replied to Atheistic_Logic's topic in KSP1 Discussion
I too hope this is the case. Considering that the tech tree can be completely unlocked with just the Kerbin system (even before the updates), it seems to me that adding biomes to other planets will leave us with ten of thousands of unspent science points. -
I feel a bit disappointed that I cannot relate to this thread. Being a space nut since I was a child kind of spoiled me. KSP offered nothing shocking or awe inspiring. Study VY Canis Majoris, for instance, and you'll know what I mean. Nothing compares.
-
As Mystique says, "Early first orbit crafts". Nothing blocking or otherwise near the hatch in my experience. When I had a thermometer near the hatch, the forced ejection occurred randomly. In either case, it was random.
-
I prefer the slightly more realistic .25. I know this is off topic but... Good lord.. Trying that with real planes would rip them to shreds. KSP is incredibly more forgiving.

Submitting a ticket concerning this would be like telling somebody that oxygen is good for you. What I'm hoping for is a representative to give us some idea when they'll tackle this long-time issue. Seems rather odd that this commonly used and vital mechanic wasn't a top priority on their list of 'things to do'. I could understand the wait for something that only a few experience.. But this is experienced by every single player out there.
-
Will this be addressed anytime soon? Something as basic as EVA shouldn't be so disastrously unpredictable. For instance.. I was Orbiting Kerbin just a moment ago and I EVA my astronaut only to have him fly off the pod and into a vital instrument. Why do you have them bounce so violently? No matter how I positioned my ship the astronaut would go flying off of the pod. And then there's times when EVA works fine. Why is something so commonly used and critical (in some cases) so neglected?

Dev speed and what should be next in the pipeline
Jas1126 replied to MKI's topic in KSP1 Suggestions & Development Discussion
Something that really confuses me is why their team is still so small. Are sales so terrible that they can't bring in a few more people? Temp-hires or volunteers (College students looking for experience) maybe? Just something to speed up progress. I thought the point of Early Access was to get more funding for a more efficient development process. Starting to think otherwise. -
For the first time in months, I didn't play KSP. Calm down, I'm as shocked as you are.... I think I've done everything there is. *shock/horror* I cannot wait for the new update!
-
For me it was just something to do. Yes, rockets are FAR more effective but after launching a few hundred or so, I wanted to do new things. I'm sure there are others that experienced similar drive. "In real life, SSTO's...." There is no such thing. O.o SSTO's are "possible" but have never been constructed.

How did you start your KSP learning curve?
Jas1126 replied to nobbers12345's topic in KSP1 Discussion
Some livestream way back when. I built a few simple rockets at first (made orbit on the second launch) and proceeded to goof around from then on. I cannot take this game seriously until they do something about the physics. I have the realism mods installed but, even then, the game is still too easy. Concerning stock - The fact that I made orbit on the second launch (first launch nowadays) and that the entire tech tree can be unlocked in three launches is a little discouraging. I cannot wait until the next update! I primarily started playing this game because I could land on planets (something I sought out for over a decade). KSP answered that dream and I replied. I will always remember KSP as one of my favorites due to that fact alone. Not to mention the improvements that will be made. -
Why is drag so high?
Jas1126 replied to NERVAfan's topic in KSP1 Suggestions & Development Discussion
By the statement "Some people are loud with their opinions" I was referring to people in general. Including those spouting the "amateur" statement. Do not take this personally. It seems that this community cannot wait to jump on somebody or insult them. Even in this case, you saw no other possibility other than me somehow affronting you. /sigh -
Why is drag so high?
Jas1126 replied to NERVAfan's topic in KSP1 Suggestions & Development Discussion
Aren't you expecting a game that wasn't intended? I mean from the company's perspective. I'm sure they never wanted their final product to be a laughing stock. And that's the attitude you'd see in the forums if this current version were the final product (in terms of aerodynamics.) They'd be considered amateur's and their reputation soiled. Some people can be quite loud with their opinions.
