  1. Hi all. With the addition of 1.4 update I recently had the following error message 'incompatible version of ksp' and a prompt to delete my save game. Needless to say, this was undesirable as I have many hours clocked on my save. The solution for me was to create a NEW career mode (new save). Then transfer the quicksave.sfs files from my corrupt save folder into the new game folder and load the quicksave from within the new game. Oddly the files are the exact same but KSP rejected my old save folder. (I even gave my new folder the same name) Not sure if it was the craft files as i'm going to remove them anyway because i read they are fazing some old parts out of the game. I have no part mods anyway so it would be also odd if this was the problem. All mods seem to work, abeit with startup error, so i don't know what the actually problem was. Hope this saves someone the trouble of restarting their career mode.
  2. I'm running 64-bit KSP on Linux. I had the game running on 1.1.1 without much trouble. I tried using the patcher, which left me with a binary which didn't do much of anything. So I backed up my save persistent.sfs file, wiped my install directory, did a fresh extraction of KSP and restored my save file. Now when I go to start I'm told that my save file is "Incompatible with this version of KSP". This doesn't make sense to me. If 1.0.5 ->1.1.0 had broken, I could understand. This was a minor patch release. From my player.log: No save file found for path: /home/garrett/KSP_linux/KSP_Data/../saves/default/persistent.sfs (Filename: /home/builduser/buildslave/unity/build/artifacts/generated/common/runtime/UnityEngineDebugBindings.gen.cpp Line: 64) NullReferenceException: Object reference not set to an instance of an object at SaveUpgradePipeline.NodeUtil.GetCfgVersion (.ConfigNode n, LoadContext loadContext) [0x00000] in <filename unknown>:0 at KSPUpgradePipeline.Process (.ConfigNode n, System.String saveName, LoadContext loadContext, .Callback`1 onSucceed, .Callback`2 onFail) [0x00000] in <filename unknown>:0 at MainMenu.OnLoadDialogFinished (System.String save) [0x00000] in <filename unknown>:0 at LoadGameDialog.ConfirmLoadGame () [0x00000] in <filename unknown>:0 at LoadGameDialog+^H^O.^C (Boolean ^A) [0x00000] in <filename unknown>:0 at DialogGUIToggleButton.<Create>m__82D (Boolean b) [0x00000] in <filename unknown>:0 at UnityEngine.Events.InvokableCall`1[System.Boolean].Invoke (System.Object[] args) [0x00000] in <filename unknown>:0 at UnityEngine.Events.InvokableCallList.Invoke (System.Object[] parameters) [0x00000] in <filename unknown>:0 at UnityEngine.Events.UnityEventBase.Invoke (System.Object[] parameters) [0x00000] in <filename unknown>:0 at UnityEngine.Events.UnityEvent`1[System.Boolean].Invoke (Boolean arg0) [0x00000] in <filename unknown>:0 at UnityEngine.UI.Toggle.Set (Boolean value, Boolean sendCallback) [0x00000] in <filename unknown>:0 at UnityEngine.UI.Toggle.Set (Boolean value) [0x00000] in <filename unknown>:0 at UnityEngine.UI.Toggle.set_isOn (Boolean value) [0x00000] in <filename unknown>:0 at UnityEngine.UI.Toggle.InternalToggle () [0x00000] in <filename unknown>:0 at UnityEngine.UI.Toggle.OnPointerClick (UnityEngine.EventSystems.PointerEventData eventData) [0x00000] in <filename unknown>:0 at UnityEngine.EventSystems.ExecuteEvents.Execute (IPointerClickHandler handler, UnityEngine.EventSystems.BaseEventData eventData) [0x00000] in <filename unknown>:0 at UnityEngine.EventSystems.ExecuteEvents.Execute[IPointerClickHandler] (UnityEngine.GameObject target, UnityEngine.EventSystems.BaseEventData eventData, UnityEngine.EventSystems.EventFunction`1 functor) [0x00000] in <filename unknown$ UnityEngine.Debug:Internal_LogException(Exception, Object) UnityEngine.Debug:LogException(Exception) UnityEngine.EventSystems.ExecuteEvents:Execute(GameObject, BaseEventData, EventFunction`1) UnityEngine.EventSystems.StandaloneInputModule:ProcessMousePress(MouseButtonEventData) UnityEngine.EventSystems.StandaloneInputModule:ProcessMouseEvent(Int32) UnityEngine.EventSystems.StandaloneInputModule:ProcessMouseEvent() UnityEngine.EventSystems.StandaloneInputModule:Process() UnityEngine.EventSystems.EventSystem:Update() (Filename: Line: -1)
  3. Hello guys, I have updated to 1.1 the day it came out and waited for the mod devs to update their mods for 1.1 full release then I went to play in career mode. I was playing fine for the past 2 days but this morning, it said my career file was incompatible with this version of KSP... what do I do? I don't want to restart another one so is there any way I can fix this? I have a few mods installed and all of them except for kerbal engineer are up to date. Actually, Kerbal engineer is bugged because I downloaded the 1.1 update for it 3 times and installed it and when I launch the game it still says that I need to use 1.0.5 with this mode because I have an older version. Can I don anything to fix this? And will my career file be re-enabled in the game afterwards? If you need to tinker with it just tell me ad I'll attach it here. Thanks in advance, Cheers I have to mention that only my career file got "corrupted" and not my sandbox file which is really liquiding me off. It may be due to the 20 or so vessels in flight in career whereas I have none in-flight in Sandbox but still, this is making me lose the motivation to play KSP now...
