Low Flyer Elite

Recommended Posts

Hey! I hope I'm eligible for the badge even though I'm a new forum member? The challenges brought me here, and as this is a "quick one" (excluding the hours it takes to practice flying a wickedly fast plane so low), I decided to start off with it. =)

Stock installation (v 1.0.2). I used two each, turbojets, airbrakes and drogue chutes, to maximise the full-throttle-window without overshooting the runway.

Time: 1:13

It was really nerve-wracking to manage the altitude, even with fine-control activated, because sooner or later height-corrections started to be more and more violent ... but too little or late and Valentina either overshot the height limit or started hydrobraking abruptly. Finally, after a rough but quick and non-lethal ride, she arrived at the island's airport with a surprisingly smooth touchdown.

This was harder as it sounded, screwed up first time not knowing the island runway was so high up !

But I did it, not fast or anything:

Alt:147

Time: 06.03

4.36 fuel used.

Maybe I will try this again and go a bit faster...

Edit, to bad, thread is closed:(
