afaik, they (ham) can listen to them... i am not sure, if you can contact them freely... i would say you can not...

but you can try to ask them a question or so - through nasa/esa/rka - sometimes they have a briefing with the astronauts and allow the public to ask a few questions...

I saw the ISS pass over where I live last year. Without a telescope, it just looks like a tiny dot of light passing overhead.

I saw it last night with my family. It was pretty awesome.

It was very very bright, far brighter and larger than I expected. I\'m going to look for it again tonight
