I have time for profound philosophical post, so I'll write what "JebKerboomism" says about meaning of life.

In my opinion, it depends on what you define by "life". If you call anything that's capable of dying alive, then the obvious primal meaning of life is loving long enough to reproduce yourself, and living as long as possible to reproduce yourself as much as possible.

However, if there is more to living than that, then it's definitely living your life happily, so that you'll never regret anything, no matter what you do. Forging a better destiny, potatoes, making the world a better place and money are nothing but valid ways to achieve happiness. So is making the world a worse place, letting someone to decide your destiny and giving up all your money - if that's what it takes to be happy.

The meaning of life is essentially doing what you want, when you want and how you want. But you should also make sure that this doesn't destroy yourself - killing a jerk is nothing but a good way to get yourself jailed - and he wasn't worth that anyway.

If we represent the only intelligent life that we know of, then our purpose is to pursue the understanding of the world around us and sustain ourselves for as long as possible.
