How do I activate KSP on steam if I bought it on the website

Hi, everyone,

I purchased KSP on the website at stage .23.5, and I was wondering if it was possible to activate it on steam without having to buy it again, so that it is not a non- steam shortcut.

If you bought it before a certain date (which escapes me, I'm sure someone will chime in), you'll have an option in the KSP store to transfer the purchase to Steam.

That certain date was around 2 years ago, no? Or at least over a year ago. I'm guessing the OP bought the game recently.

If that is the case, you're out of luck. You can either:

1) Not use Steam, and just run the game.

2) Buy it again through Steam.

3) Use the "Not a steam game, but running in Steam" option.

I use option 1, personally.

Option one for me too. That may have something to do with how Steam crashes as soon as I try option 3...

For what it's worth, I use steam (as I do for most all my other games)... but I'm very sad that I use KSP with steam. It's the one game I won't really play for more than a couple hours without my mods... and if it were up to me, I'd put off updating until my favorite modders caught up (points at Roverdude, stupid_chris, and too many other awesome folks to name) So I'm kinda jealous, I wish mine was non-steam. (You'd never hear me say that about my other games.)

I know I could play offline, but that's just annoying (and keeps other things from updating).

- no surprise updates that break all mods/saves

- multiple game folders with multiple mod sets

- launch in opengl mode for some memory saving

My Steam KSP folder is basically stock and untouched. It thinks I have only played 430 hours. Sweet innocent Steam, how little it knows me
