crew report from ghosts

I believe I found a bug

I got one of the missions to test a lander can in suborbital flight.

so I toke a probe attached a lander can and some rocket.

so as you can't do it differently I opened the right clicking menu on the can en tested it. then I so I could do on an empty lander can a crew report. it worked.

So crew report from a ghost.

I think that when there is no crew on board thecrew report should be called "Mission Control report" Meaning that mission control is making use of the instruments and other doodads onboard to experience what a real crew would.

It's not a bug, it's a "feature"!

You see, it's really the probe taking the crew report. The only reason it needs a lander can is because the lander can has the clipboards inside.

Yeeeeaaaahhh.

Pretty much, you need an probe or kerbal to control the ship, you can however do crew report from pods who never have been maned.

The report is not generated by the crew, but by the part itself.

There is no test for whether a capsule is manned or not - something like the science lab processing routine has or the command function that gives control over a vessel.

Science reports lack this test as only the crew report requires a crew present - all other science equipment works as long as you have control of the vessel, either by a manned capsule or a probe core.

So probably an oversight that has not yet been corrected.

Beaten to the punch... oh well, might provide some primary information anyway.

Nothing that mentions Kerbals having to be in the can.
