Shields

essentially, what I'd like is a shield generator to work alongside BDArmory mod. The shields would be like shields from Star Wars or Star Trek in that they, A) protect the ship for a while until a part of the shield is ablated away (lose power) and the ship will lose power the longer the shields remain on. Can someone make this for me?

Shields are cool, But i personally think that seeing the explosion and the damage that a weapon does is actually pretty gratifying, The only problem with that is that the stock parts are not strong enough to build a cool ship with them

InfiniteDice's mod has enforced parts - armor plate. But they are not force shields.

Author uses Roverdude's WarpDrive as a deflector shield.

I saw that video before. However...I was very confused by how he did it. and I am not wanting it to be an OP shield. I kind of want it to be able to lose energy over time and eventually be battered down unless the user maneuvers to put his/her stronger shields in the line of fire!

Deflectors and Shields are two different things. The shields are... well shields... for combat. The deflector pushes debris out of the flight path of the vessel, especially at warp/hyperspace/whateveryoucallit.

Instead of a bubble, a blue translucent coating could appear around the vessel's parts, making a tighter, more efficient looking shield model.
