Visually Change Mun To Look More Like The Moon

I've been playing around with the 'Better Atmospheres' and 'Renaissance Mod' trying to tweak little things here and there to make the game a visually perfect as I can get it (in my eyes!).

I would really like Kerbin to have a Mun that looks very similar to our Moon, I'm assuming id have to use texture replacer to do it but I'm not sure what to do!

Your help would be hugely appreciated!

Use Texture Replacer with this texture for the moon:

How would I go about doing that? Does it have to be named something specifically?

Rss....?

I honestly don't know. I'm a bit of a novice when it comes to mods. I know how to download and install them etc, I like to pick and choose what I use from each mod but I have no idea how to add something new!

Last time I checked, TextureReplacer comes with a subfolder where textures need to go. The texture needs to have a very specific filename for it to be applied to the correct celestial body. No, these filenames do not always make sense, but you still need to name them exacty that way :P

Which filename you need to give your moon texture and where you need to place it should be listed somewhere in the TextureReplacer readme file or the TextureReplacer forum thread first post.

Do note that just replacing the texture does not change the terrain - stuff like where the craters are, what the biomes are named, and so on. Those will still be KSP standard. The texture just makes it appear different from afar.

If you're generally interested in making things more akin to real life, check out "Realism Overhaul", and especially "Real Solar System".
