1.0 Memory Footprint

as 0.90 increased the footprint a fair bit, I was wondering on my friends behalf what memory size the game will take up on release of 1.0 later today. I remember readinf somewhere that it was smaller than that of 0.90. So what size do you think it will be when it comes out?

Like what gmiddlemass said, KSP should run a lot better in 1.0 than ever before since many textures have been converted to .dds format.

I don't know in meg or gig, but I'm pretty sure it will be exactly 1 KSP Memory Footprint in size.

(More seriously, there's no way to know. Even the people with access to it could only guess because I don't think any of them have the actual final copy)

While 1.0 downloads, very slow internet, has anyone seen what amount of ram 1.0 uses now its released?

Well i downloaded the update (install was clean) and it appears no parts, flags or resources were downloaded.

Incredibly fast loading and low RAM usage, but somewhat deducts from gameplay.

It has to be. It also seems reasonable given Linux data type sizes.

They seem to have shaved about 400MB of data off the Gamedata folder from my .90 install to 1.0. Must be the new texture format. That should definitely reduce the memory footprint.
