God, that's disturbing.

I remember vividly reading the rules when I joined, and often check over them just to be sure.

I read them several times before I even got an account (I was 2 weeks away from my 13th birthday)

Ya know if everybody keeps posting in this thread I'm never going to be able to necro it. Just saying.

That's the idea  , so don't bother trying. I check my threads repeatedly to make sure they don't need any help :3 . So no- there will be no Necroposting here.

Sometimes I notice lots of necroposts for a week. Then it dies down.

Seriously, don't necropost. With the amount of time it takes to lock a thread, something more obscene could come up, and if we aren't dealing with necros, we can kill it sooner.

I wouldn't mind so much but as a recent example proved to me it's more sheer ignorance than anything. I try to let you mods know of a Necroposting after it happens.

This post is so incomprehensible that I almost took it as spam.

I'm sick of people misusing this term. Necroposting means bringing back threads with USELESS content.

If one has some decent new information that would be useful for others, it's not necroposting.

I don't know who started misusing the term, but I get a small seizure when someone posts something useful and there's a bunch of kids screaming: "NECRO!!1!!OMG1BBQ1!"

I have seen many great threads ruined, only to get closed down because of it. That should stop, people posting in bad ways should not run the show. Simply remove or modify the posts and reprimand the offending users if necessary.

Though I have started a discussion about the moderating policies here before and apparently it is no use. The policy remains futile in some areas and threads with good potential will still be killed.

This post is so incomprehensible that I almost took it as spam.

I have regularly thought it was a bot or spam too, though it might just be a language barrier.

You're a neurotypical Wink, don't claim to be what you are not.

Sometimes I notice lots of necroposts for a week. Then it dies down.

Seriously, don't necropost. With the amount of time it takes to lock a thread, something more obscene could come up, and if we aren't dealing with necros, we can kill it sooner.

Why, this thread was three days old and well on its way of vanishing off the face of the boards and you went and necro'd it, for shame! I shall doc you 3 demerits for that.

This really is a bit of a broken thread (it tends to invite backseat moderation) and I suspect moderators agree with the sentiment of the thread, but, at the very least, the concepts of thread ownership should be removed and 2 months should be corrected to 3 months because it clashes with the rules while being seemingly affirmed by the number of moderators posting here in agreement.

I'd also say that the problem really isn't necroing... but necromoaning. In some instances where a necro causes confusion, staff may feel it is necessary to lock the thread; but the biggest issue is necromoaning generates hostility to the person who revived the thread. We have hundreds of threads talking about life-support, multi-player, clouds, boats, whatever... but reviving those brings the same hostility as the so called "obsolete version" threads.

The points of discussion aren't obsolete, they're just old... people routinely publish peer review articles on thesis' done decades ago; age has no real meaning in the academic world, but for some reason it does on forums.

Oh if medics say so ; ) i do must trust them ; ) think what you want i don't rely on statement of scientists that don't experience thing by themselve from inside ; ) they are only watchers attempting to understand from outside ... throwing molecule to people brain expecting some result, notice on this point that i don't care the molecule they use show different result than thoose they expect ... if you want my very personnal advice they should take thoose molecule themselve on the long run and wrote something about how they feel years later ... neurotypical wut ? *cough cough* and lol just lol

Necroing mechanics are interesting like many others mechanics ; ) once again "hot" and "dot" are the same.
