IVA re-entrys are cool

IVA re-entrys are cool as ..... But i feel like they can be made even more imersive. More shaking, alarms going off etc. I dont know if anyone have tried an IVA re-entry, try it out, preferably with the UI hidden so you only got the instruments in the cockpit to use. Its actually pretty cool. If anyone would be up to increasing this immersion with more shaking, and alarms etc. that would be awesome!

Try IVA landing for extra extra fun. And, yes, Raster Prop Monitor is what you're after.

Having recently managed my first IVA docking...

...I thought I'd give IVA reentry and landing a try.

I'd already launched into orbit with a Kerbodyne Gull, delivering a probe that was soon to zoom off to Duna and Ike.

But now it was time to come back down.

Lodnand is hopeful.

So is Philfrod.

Possibly without cause.

This could be awkward.

Still, all good for now.

Time to turn around and head back to KSC.

The ability to zoom on the instruments is quite useful at times. Better than external view flying.

screenshot541_zpsab559518.png

Oops.

screenshot544_zps3ee3dce5.png

How far to KSC? Maybe we can glide.

Oh.

screenshot532_zps0db83a16.png

Well, we might be able to make land at least.

screenshot547_zpsa014d19e.png

Phew.

screenshot549_zpsad11e509.png

We won't make it over the next bit of ocean, though. Best put it down now while the ground is flat-ish.

Nice smooth approach...

screenshot553_zpse097590c.png

And down.

screenshot557_zps49769901.png

These brakes aren't working very well. I think we may be on a bit of a slope...

screenshot560_zps72e1ddbf.png

Uh-oh, bumpy bit...

screenshot561_zps8bb03c49.png

screenshot562_zpse924b857.png

More bumps...

screenshot565_zps9e9cb431.png

...and finally to a halt.

screenshot568_zps91b04b49.png

Just a little scratch.

screenshot569_zpsa4de26fb.png

Time to call the recovery crew...
