Dumb I know but how do you upgrade KSC?

I just started the Career Mode for the first time. I have done all the contracts you start out with and the games tells me I need to upgrade my base to get new contracts. How do I do this? I have 3.5 million in cash but I cant seem to figure out where and how to upgrade?

Right-click on a building to get an info box, which includes an upgrade button. Each building has to be done separately.

Additionally, mousing over the upgrade button will show you the effects of what the upgrade will provide. Some are less clear than others. This will help you prioritize which upgrades to perform first.

I've experienced glitches where the upgrade menu does not show on right click. Sometimes flying a mission helps bring back the menus but sometimes I need to restart - usually after a long sessions where I want to end with upgrades.
