The real one is 5.5 metres wide so it's not thinner.

I mean relative to the booster stage, the payload on the picture seems to be almost as wide as the booster stage. While in your craft it seems to be almost twice the size. If you add fairings, it may be better sized.

So it would look better if everything was in scale?.

Yes, now the upper part looks a bit oversized for the lower part of the rocket.

Dummy upper stage 5.5 metres

SRB 3.71 metres

Not the same width.

With the real one, the upper part is 1,48 times wider than the lower part. While as in KSP large parts are 2 times wider than smaller parts (2,5 relative to 1,25).

35% wider seems to me like quite a difference

Well, I didn't mean the real scale size but the relative one. the scale rate of the upper part relative to the lower part.

This big is not neccesary, I suggest one booster and then the fairing.

Everything could easily be in size 'small' and build your fairing around the upper part of the rocket and close it under the escape tower.

But we dont have 3.75m orange tanks. :(

Well, in your first post you didn´t use an orange tank . . .

There is always the kerbpaint mod if you want to keep the parts stock.

Otherwise tweakscale might help.

And someone already used drills to create the effect of an orange tank. (but that feels way to inefficient for my personal taste)

 That was me. Each to their own, I guess!
