F-14 (damned aerospace required)

Recommended Posts

here is my flyable f-14 prototype / project that is best viewed at night while squinting

unfortunately it flaps the wings up and down during flight and explodes if i try KIS connect. i dont know of a stock solution to this problem and help would be much appreciated. I\'m no stranger to mods so any mods that could clean up its look would be awesome. also is there any parts pack that has a smaller rectangle/square piece fit for building, folding triangles isn\'t my thing. Also i\'d need such a piece to finish intake building as the stock parts are huge.

have fun flying and improving this f-14

updating craft files for .52. it seems i can get away with more wing folding now and less planes sinking into the runway or exploding on load

as always I\'m looking for 'top men' *or women?* to improve this project.

there\'s a part in the damned aerospace mod that attaches between body and wings that allows the wings to change angle. so yup it changes geometry.

the sacrifice for using such a part is that i cant use the stock kerbal glue on the wings

Stock kerbal glue ? Not familiar, with that. :o

I am planning to make some geometry shaped plane, but not sure what approach to use - With this part or maybe even damned robotics (looks like it can be used for trimming and this is kind of idea fix for me).

What I\'ve found in my pursuit of the F-14, which was much, much, much smaller, is that if you take a strut from the DA wing part, and attach it to the wing, it\'ll help some, but the best way is to put less control surfaces/load-bearing pylons on the wings.

well going smaller is great if it would look the way i want. but i just cant play with the shapes on a small scale to fit the look. ultimately you\'re right, it needs to be smaller. As you can tell there\'s no clear way to push this project further *as far as i can tell* without finding A: Super glue for rotating parts B: Ultra light parts or C: smaller parts to combat weight distribution and the lever effect on joints.

i did do some tinkering when i got home and found that the plane flies just as well without the front wing flaps. I also simplified the wings while still keeping its shape, managed to shave off 2 parts per wing (magic and spells I know). it seems like i should go on a mod shopping spree to find wings that fit my needs and smaller 'building blocks'.

anyways thanks for the feedback and I\'m looking forward to seeing some craft files.

Correction: Damned Robotics

Correction: You can still use struts.

Double correction: The swingwing bit is indeed in the aerospace pack, although there are several parts in the robotics pack that could do the same.

Double correction: You can\'t really use struts on moving parts since that impedes the movement.
