[WIP] Mad Max Film

This is just a thread to keep track of the progress of this Mad Max-type film I'm trying to make in KSP. I'm going to put bit's of video, craft used and A LOT of screenshots here - I take way too many of them.

The plan is to make a film based on the Mad Max world of messed up cars and explosions, but not specifically based on any actual film. I'm currently putting together the vehicles and preparing a bunch of stunts, and kind of have a storyline in mind.

If anyone has any craft they want to contribute or cars they think could be modified to use in the video, that would be very much appreciated.

CRAFT PREPARED SO FAR:

If you need any ideas, this guy covered pretty much everything up to the storm.

Yeah, I saw that, it looks like I've got to live up to. The difference though is that mine will be completely stock parts, and isn't based on a real film so there's more room for new stunts and stuff. I have a lot of ideas for scenes that should, if they work out right, be very very cool. That is, if they work out right. The three smashed quadbikes littered over the KSC lawn say otherwise.

We need a peaceful scene with a KerbalWagen bus cruising along then a bunch of gangsters on bikes hijack it and bring it back to the Immortan Jeb where it is converted into a post apocalyptic armored gunship all shiny and chrome spewing flame from the V8 shoehorned into the back!

Ok Kerbal bikes don't sound practical, so let's have that hot rod roadster thingie with lots o spikes poking out from it :D If you stick a lot of extended communotron-16 all over it, it will be spiky and stock.

I just saw the new Mad Max... the beginning was a little shaky, but once it got going it was pretty good... IMO.

Anyway, it's not 100% Max, but I'd be willing to donate my Lathye Rover if you want

This little bad-S can get over 50 m/s and as you can see, got some serious air over Laythe without smashing. May need a little cosmetic work to make it look more Maxish (too bad KSP doesn't have crossbows) but it's already and excellent chase car! Oh, there's seating for 3...

I'm just not sure how or where to upload it to get it to you..... never shared a ship (rover) before

For sharing craft you need to find the craft file in KSP/Saves/*save name*/Ships, and upload it to a file sharing site. Your main options are dropbox, KerbalX and mediafire. Mediafire gives a wall of adverts so is really annoying to download from, KerbalX is great but takes a while to upload for (lots of options), dropbox is quick and easy to use but probably not as good as KerbalX in terms of feature set.

I would be very interested in using your rover, especially as a camera car. It looks really tough and stable so would probably be a good platform for scenes.

Some testing of a fight between a hot-rod roadster thing I made and a modified RAGE Buggy from MajorJim:

Explosions are provided by jettisoning radial decouplers. Not pictured is when I forgot about the ocean and both cars went for an unplanned and explosive swim.

Freakin' awesome man!
