Pokemon Thread!

This is a thread for us Pokemon players to discuss the games. Theres some rules to keep it good.

So, go on, lets talk about Pokemon!

My first Pokemon game was Platinum, and I played through it and got stuck in the distortion world near the end, darn puzzles! Years later I came back to it, breezed through the Distortion World and beat the game.

If theres one thing I love in the games it's the music, there are some tracks that leave me in awe (N's castle, N's castle bridge, B/W credits music.) and some that I think are plain awesome! (Primal Groudon/Kyogre, Rayquaza, Zinnia battle, Lysandre battle, Frontier Brain battle music in Platinum, Red/Lance theme.)

I also like the Pokemon, obviously, my favourite being Clawitzer.

I haven't played Pokemon lately, because shiny hunting and continuous egg hatching got very boring in AS.

I grew up with Red, and played Crystal into early teens. Been out since, but still like the franchise.

I always picked the fire starter because I like them the most and you can just teach it thunder-punch to really hurt your rivals water-type.

Gengar has always been my favorite, but I could never get him because he required a trade.

When playing the "Project M" mod for Smash Bros Brawl, I wreck folks as Mewtwo and as Charizard (and Peach, but this is a pokemon thread)

I played Red, Gold (both on GB Advanced), Pearl, Platinum, SoulSilver and Black (all four in first DS Lite).

I had a quite good competitive level in 4th gen (Pearl and especially Platinum) but kinda lost interest with time. Only played SoulSilver and Black a little, and did not go a lot further than exploring the whole regions. After that, I never bought a more recent DS, so I stopped playing.

Still, very good games, I spent maybe hundreds of hours (>300 on my Platinum save) over several years on these, and I do not regret it. Also, we had some quite intense battles with some friends at the time (tournaments and everything, often finishing with ties, as I used Destiny Bond a lot).

My favorite Pokemon must have been a battle trained Porygon-Z: completely overpowered if well placed, completely useless otherwise ^^. I also liked quite a few Pokemons of the 5th gen, although I can"t remember their names now. Overall, I've always liked playing with UU pokemons, instead of the OU ones that everyone had (looking at you Tyranitar, Garchomp and Heatran)

I got bored over the summer, so when I got my new phone I installed this hack for Pokemon Emerald. I'm almost finished making my team of Salamence, Gengar, Gardevoir, Aggron, Metagross and Volcarona.

NOTE: Salamence may be replaced with Garchomp, Gengar may be replaced with Hydreigon, Gardevoir may be replaced with Alakazam, Aggron may be replaced with Tyranitar. Please drink responsibly.

Started in Gen IV, which was fairly late. Was around when R/S/E was released but wasn't that into it at the time. Recently I discovered how hopelessly outdated my 3DS firmware is (5.0-22U, jeez!) so I can hack pokemon in.
