77 Industries Presents:

North American B-25 Mitchell

World famous medium bomber of the second world war, this baby combines a nice bomb load with ruggedness. Easy to fly, easy to land. Dimensions are a reasonable match with the real thing. Radiators for fuselage plating are the new trend but those don't come with a kerbpaint mask yet.

I released this in the first week of June but I just discovered I never posted it on this forum. Enjoy!

Action Group 3: Toggle engines

Hi Azimech,

I tested the stock version of this. I really like it. It has a nice caricature feeling about it. The overall build quality is good. You have set it up well too, brakes are set up properly as are the surfaces.

The interior is really nice dude. She flies well too, the SPH com and col said otherwise though which was odd.

Puts on pedant hat

There are some exposed struts on the wings and on the underside you made from structural panels. You started the strut on the wing. If you start the strut on the structural panel you can offset it inside hiding it.

Also it is very hard to get kerbals into the seats without using mods. Given how nice the interior is I think you missed a trick by not allowing kerbals to get in from the outside and move around.

And that's it! Its a lovely aircraft mate, bordering on too many parts for an aircraft but still enjoyable to fly. The bombs are fun but I would have liked action groups for them so I don't have to drop all of them, maybe just separate out the staging for them.

This deserves more attention as its great, good job man.

I could always make a part reduced variant if people are interested. Which version did you try?

I flew the stocker, but I downloaded both as I do have KAX. I didn't however try it with (or without) your modded Radials. Must do that. But... I'll wait until 1.1 drops and hope that Mac also gets 64-bit. Free me from this single 2.3 ghz core...

Thank you for your kind review, Majorjim!

Maybe I'll add a door/hatch somewhere. Moving around inside the B-25 was a bit tricky though, you had to crawl your way over the bombbay, underneath the cockpit there's a tunnel leading to the bombardier/front gunner position. If only our kerbals could crawl ...

The pilots had a door in the greenhouse, the gunners/radio operator went through a hatch in the belly. The movie Catch-22 is a nice reference and for people who love this terrific machine, go see it!

I use Take Command for instantly installing kerbals in the seats. Something Squad should've done years ago.
