Struts get messed up when rotating an SPH vehicle in VAB

I've a problem.

When merging a vehicle that was created in the SPH into a craft of the VAB, all struts of the merged vehicle get messed up when rotating the added vehicle.

Is there a way to prevent this?

Plus the rover does not want to attach to the docking port of the delivery vehicle. Pressing ALT while dragging at the docking port of the rover does not help.

Hm, if I make the docking port of the rover the root, the docking port gets offset by dozens of meters from the rover when loading the rover into the VAB.

Seems bugged.

I guess I'll have to rebuild the rover in the VAB then. :/

EDIT: I rebuild the rover in the VAB and made it centrically attached instead of radially, due to massive drag problems during acceleration in space.

But out of curiosity: Does anyone know how to avoid this strut problem with merged vehicles in the VAB?
