nyma11
Hello, I tried the search function and couldn't find another thread that had anything on this. Is there currently going to be a beta for the ps4? If so, will there be a sign up?If there a sign up, can I be number 1? thank you
sal_vager
Hi nyma11 and welcome to the KSP forums All testing of the PS4 version will be undertaken by the company making the port, Flying Tiger, and won't be open to KSP players unfortunately, so there won't be a signup. Thanks for asking though! Higgs
No public testing of the ps4 version? No testing by players who know how to play? Welp thats gonna be a huge mistake. I officially believe that will lead to failure. I hope i am wrong but i seriously doubt i am. Refusal to tap a vast and knowledgeable resource often leads to mistakes that lead to failure. Again hope i am wrong but again doubt i am
Vanamonde
No testing by players who know how to play? This is a baseless assumption.

Streetwind
Testing a direct port is much easier than testing a newly developed game by itself, because you have the source of the port as a reference. You can simply check off, one by one, all the areas where the port is supposed to behave exactly like the source. If it doesn't behave that way, it won't stand up to being tested. Additionally, porting a PC title to a console is much easier than the other way round, because there is only one hardware configuration to worry about as opposed to several million. You can have an incredibly in-depth test focused on exactly the one use case that will be guaranteed to happen at the customer's house, instead of spreading your resources in an effort to catch only the most common issues on as many platform variations as possible. As such, I'm not really worried about the beta testing being carried out inhouse. nyma11
I assume you have fired all of your internal testing guys? remember when I asked this question? I never thought that 3 months after buying this game I would still be waiting to play it correctly.

Red Iron Crown
There are any number of current threads in which this is being discussed, no need to bump one over a year old. Closed.
