Real-Time Kerbal (Getting To Run in Background)

Greetings fellow Kerbonauts!

I'm sorry if this post does not follow certain procedures, but I'm new to this and am just looking for a bit of help.

I'm attempting to do a real-time game of KSP, but for this I'm going to need to get KSP to run in the background. I'm using v1.0.4 on a Windows 10 computer. I do have a bunch of mods installed, and would like to keep it that way because of how intense this project is. As I'm typing this KSP is up on my second monitor in a borderless window (yes, I know about the -popupwindow trick already), and the timers on KAC are not ticking down at all.

Any other ideas on how to get it to run in the background, or is this a 100% purely lost cause?

Also: I don't need feedback on the idea of doing real-time Kerbal, I know what I'm getting in to, let me learn on my own .

Is this happening in all different scenes? I've found that KSP auto-pauses if I alt+tab while in the space centre, but it continues to run fine if I alt+tab in e.g. the tracking station or when controlling a vessel.

KSP should automatically run in the background and there is a setting allowing this. As long as the game is not paused it should still be running. I have Windows 10 as well and it does work.

Well, when you are in the spacecenter, and you click outside the game (I run in a window), alt-tab does it as well, the game stops

Anywhere else in the game, it keeps running.

I thought that it did everywhere; perhaps not.

try pressing ctrl+alt+tab to leave the game quickly in full screen mode and leave it running in the background

Alright, so after doing a clean install of windows 10 on my computer (due to 80% of my steam games not working at all) I've gone back and retried, the timers are now running even when KSP is not selected (i.e. when I click out to a different window), this works for both full screen and windowed. However, the game will still pause itself if I'm at the space center. Thanks to everyone for the help, after a week of no replies I thought that my post was going to be disregarded forever.

Yeah, it doesn't look like there's anything you can do about it. Not that I've found anyway, and I've spent ridiculously long troubleshooting this
