Collider collision detector, better environment interaction for KSP 1.2

In normal language: a mechanical switch. A module that detects if it is being touched or hit, then switches/toggles an action group, toggles resource flow, generates resource, etc.

Reason: The amount of sensors being really capable of being interactive with the environment is ... limited. Therefore limits creativity.

Plea: The vision of building low resolution space things (i.e. command pod, tank, engine) is narrow. It's nice for a first product.

The editor is capable of creating so much more, and the future market demands it. Be ready, or be swept away by upcoming titles. The editor is the game's strongest asset, it's fast and very easy to use. The whole space thing may be the roots, but the editor is the platform to expand from into other territories. Don't expect the competition to do nothing and I repeat: space is NOT the final frontier.

I disagree. KSP was not made for that kind of thing. And what titles will 'sweep away' KSP? Nothing comes close to what KSP is. A space exploration game. If you want to change it, mod it. Just don't expect the games scope to expand.

Not yet, Majorjim. And I disagree with the idea that "it was not made for that kind of thing".

But anyway ... in every business it's the same: be prepared for the future, be flexible and adapt, or you go down. And for the future I see a huge glacier creeping towards Squad and crushing it if they won't develop. I've been playing games since 1983 and have seen a lot of companies come & go.

I was the one to convince them to build one ... but ... when it was finished, we discovered the implementation was wrong.
