Mods wont work, seriously no idea why

Recommended Posts

Hi fellow Kerbals!!!

(Ksp 1.0.4.)

I'm running against a wall here. I want to install mods on my laptop but they wont show up. Even a simple mod like chatterer.

Ive played ksp also on my previous old laptop and most mods worked just fine. That's the strange part. When i copied the install file, nothing weird showed up or something. So here's my question what the difference can be?

Greetz,

Ferdoni

Did you put the stuff in the gamedata folder in the KSP gamedata

Of course I did. With MechJeb I even could see the parts but not the screen. That's why I seriously don't have a clue why it first worked on my previous laptop.

This thread is in the wrong forum... it's better suited for Support (Modded Installs). You will receive much better answers there. Be prepared to provide screenshots and/or logfiles ;)

You can ask a moderator to move your thread here: http://forum.kerbalspaceprogram.com/threads/25176-Need-your-Own-Thread-Moved-Removed-or-Closed-or-a-Post-Deleted

Make sure that KSP is not installed in Program Files* or your Desktop.

If it's installed in one of several system recognized locations then Windows might be shutting down the DLLs in MechJeb. or other mods.

Make a folder called 'Games' off of your root folder and move KSP there.

What`s the issue with having it installed on your desktop? (he said warily eyeing the three installs on his desktop)

DEP. Windows sees a plugin, thinks it could be bad, stops it working (not just plugins, but saving/overwriting files like the settings.cfg or output log). Desktop and in Program Files are (some?) of the places it will act.
