What's really scary, if I remember right, is the movie has the Cubs winning the world series in 2015, and right now they're in the National League championships..... creepy...

They're losing to the Mets sadly. I don't think it will be the Cubs in the World Series this year (Though they did manage to beat the 2 best teams in baseball first).

For me in US EST, we have 9 minutes until its officially when they jumped into the future. So Californians keep a tight eye on the skies and moreover, is it raining?? It should stop on the tick about a minute after.

I'll make a list in a bit of what exactly is missing from the BTTF timeline and ours, as well as list possible dates as to when they make become reality.

They have finally arrived!!

Given that the time trip takes place five minutes into the film, I figure I'll just start watching Back to the Future Part 2 (Amazon Prime Streaming has all three films up in the US) at 7:24 PM EDT tonight. Since Hill Valley is in California, and the arrival's at 4:29 PM PDT.

I heard Pepsi released a promotional soda can modeled after the one from Back to the Future Part II, I'm going to see if I can find one.

And I still don't have a hover board, time to take these lies to court!

Sure, there's that, but its likely going to be expensive as hell. It certainly won't be available in the quantities shown in Back to the Future, where even little kids have hover boards, and there are vastly varying qualities of hover boards, etc.

The Royal Greenwich Observatory would like to have a talk with you

The time in the movie is 04:29 (04:29 AM) and that applies to the time zone of the place on Earth where the car was. It's a unique moment for everyone, so everyone has to convert the time. It does not happen a bunch of times, one per time zone.

The setup is in a fictional town in California and California uses Pacific Time Zone which is UTC-7 or UTC-8, depending on the time of the year. Daylight saving time makes it UTC-7, if I'm correct. That means that right now it's 07:45 there.

I know it says 04:29, but isn't it light out when they arrive? If it is, it says that it's really 16:29 to me. I agree with everything else, though.

04:29 is early morning. It was pitch dark, before sunrise. As far as I can remember, the clock in the car did not use silly AM/PM notation, but a full 24 hour clock.

The "future" is still waiting for that one little piece of "space magic."

Funny how we classify the future as the moment a movie says. It's always been "2015 is the future" but now it's 2015, but it doesn't seem any different. It's almost identical to back then, with a few major cultural differences.

Yeeeeah...

Sorry to burst your 24 hour superiority bubble, but:

Doc was sure obsessed with the details. Extra work to put in AM/PM lights.

What? He's known to build crude models that are neither to scale or painted.

Crude models is fine when you're just testing a concept. But you gotta trick out your functional prototype.
