Decoupler inertial dampeners

Recommended Posts

Once upon a time I was doing two science contracts which involved testing something on the ground. I stuck a .65 meter engine on a 1.25 meter decoupler and plopped a stayputnik on top. I forgot to lower the decoupler force and the thing shot up into the air. I was kind of disappointed I wouldn't get my 600 kerbits back, but it landed on the decoupler thing and survived.

Does anyone else want to try this and completely abuse it

I think it was scott manley or someone else. But they created a HUGE version of this and launched something crazy fast. I doubt it would work now due to changes or just the instant heat.

Always interesting haha.
