Changes during a shift of forum software

I've heard mention that in the future, Squad plans to change what forum software is used. Not asking when, or what. If that did happen, what we would lose in the process? Would we need new accounts? Would things like rep and or postcount be lost? Would threads be deleted (not the KMC D: !!)? What could we expect?

Again, I'm trying to ask this without asking the "forbidden questions".

We've changed forum software before. There is always some disruption when transitioning software, but of course we'll try to keep it to a minimum. You won't need new accounts, and most account features should transfer over. Old threads may be archived, but we shouldn't lose active ones.

Of course, there's always the possibility of glitches affecting those things, though.

Mostly, the buttons will be in different places and there may be some new functions. I don't believe it's scheduled to happen soon, though.

I don't want to start a debate here, and pardon me if the topic is not allowed to be discussed or leading to forum wars; but I actually wonder how much the forum would change if rep was removed ? I wouldn't know if that would bring positive or negative change. Or, it may have no impact at all.

It would probably be better IF people bragged about their rep, which they don't in here. Taking it off wouldn't do much, I think.

Wouldnt do much. Since the admins don't like it when people brag or boast.

Admins actually DON'T like bragging/boasting of rep, hence why no one does it.

I think there was a post a while back saying what they might switch to. IIRC it wasn't vBulletin.
