I need to resurrect some kerbals, help?

When you started the save, you chose if Kerbals would respawn. Check your Astronaut Complex. If it says "Missing in Action" they'll return soon. If it says "Dead" they're dead.

If they're "Dead", hit alt-F12 and turn on... uh... I don't know the exact wording. But you're either turning on that dead Kerbals respawn, or turning off that Kerbals die. Then, wait a few days.

Yes. Close the game window.

Open up the KSP folder/saves/your save name/persistence.sfs

Scroll down until you see "MissingCrewsRespawn"

If it says "MissingCrewsRespawn = False" change it to "MissingCrewsRespawn = True"

Reopen the game and save. It should work.

Or, if you don't want all kerbals to respawn (Seems likley for a WAR series) open up the persistence file, scroll near the bottom and switch the Status=Dead to active or whatever the other living kerbals have listed. You can also turn them into recruits or tourists.

If your Kerbals aren't recoverable by standard means, I've got a really ugly hack that could save them--at the cost of setting your save file back a while.

It only works in recent versions of Windows (Win7 definitely), and then only if you're doing the thing with Restore Points. If you right-click on the save file and click Properties, you should get several tabs, one of which is "Previous Versions". You may be able to use this to get an old save file from a few days ago by plucking it out of a past Restore point. (FOR THE LOVE OF GOD, MAKE A BACKUP COPY BEFORE YOU TRY THIS!!1)

I can verify from previous experience that this works. But then I only did it once, and it was with a Minecraft save rather than Kerbal Space Program.
