What strutting pattern are you trying? This can be solved.

Oh, I tried many strut patterns, at best all but 2 of the struts connected.

Hey man, I just DLd it and had a look.

there is nothing wrong with it.. I placed struts in symmetry from the second stage down and they connect fine man. I think the issue is with your game files.

Here is a pic of some struts I randomly placed:

If this is not the issue let me know. Struts are easy to deal with.

Don't strut from the bottom to the top. The mismatched symmetry will prevent the struts from connecting. Work from least to most symmetry.
