Do you say KSP or spell it?

There seem to be two distinctions between acronyms and initialisms - one based on how they're constructed (initialisms are initials and acronyms aren't) and another based on how they're pronounced (initialisms are spelled out and acronyms are pronounced as words). I don't think that drawing one of those distinctions necessarily implies the other.

Also, the english language dictates very little. It's a prescriptivists' nightmare. Usage is correct if most people believe it is.

Personally, I pronounce NASA and JAXA (as nah-suh and jack-suh), but spell ESA.

NASA: As a word - "Naas-a". Like everybody I hear on radio and TV.
ESA: Spelled - "Ee, Ess, Ey". Ditto.

I pronounce it "K S P." However, that's only if I like something. Example: the NFL becomes the "nifl," MLB becomes "mulb," and the NBA becomes the "in-ba." I'm not very into sports.

I always would say Kerbal Space Program, as acronyms are just there to save keyboard strokes. Just like one should always say Light Amplification by Stimulated Emission of Radiation, cause LASER is too mainstream.

LASER has more of a ring to it than L-A-S-E-R, whereas K-S-P has more of a ring to it than 'Kissp'.

It's way much better than [I]kaesepé[/I]. Something like "caesse-pe"... wich is the most close english pronunciation I can think of now of the spanish spelling of KSP.

As with everyone else I spell it, ksp as a word sounds ridiculous.

Curiously, the KSP players I know IRL pronounce it like a word, with an added vowel:
"kasp". It's a little bit faster than spelling it out, and since no outsider understands us anyway, we might as well.
