There was a small aerodynamic stability problem with a spaceplane powered by an antimatter-initiated fusion reactor. Gildrien ended up floating in the water, while the remains of the aircraft (and the antimatter bottles) sank towards the bottom.

She lived, but probably got enough of a radiation dose to ground her for life.
