Welp, I'm beaten.. Great work! I'm assuming it's the E-4?

Although I'd suggest you use something thinner for the windshield borders, like strut connectors instead of cubic struts.

I would use antennas, the thin extending ones. Cubics have a shimmer to them when viewed anyway but up close.

Can we see it without the fake colours? I am not a fan of it, it masks the build. Looks good though, the shape is nice.

They are pretty thick - I mostly use them because they created a really defined cockpit, and its really easy to make curved canopies with them, whereas antennas, while they would work great for the BF 109, wouldn't for the others since most have some sort of curve (A6M Zero, Vought Corsair). I might try it in a version of the BF 109, but I'm going for consistency throughout the builds.

I'll add unpainted pictures to all the albums. Thanks!

Hmm, I've tested it a few times, and it seems that this plane is really, really unstable. The first time I flew it, I pulled the nose up to gain altitude, and the plane proceeded to do an entire loop (while I had my hand pressing on the W key, trying to bring it back down), before losing control and doing half of another loop before crashing. The second time, I turned Caps Lock on, tried to roll the plane and them turn to the right, it quickly did another Crazy Ivan loop and crashed.

It's a very pretty plane, but I must be missing something. Am I supposed to use FAR for this?

Yes sorry Rex, I have tested this just now and it is unflyable... It just flips when you want to turn and then is unrecoverable.

That's very odd, I haven't had any of those problems.. I'll be out for a few hours but I'll look more into it when I get back. Even when the fuel tank's empty the CM is forward of the CL, but I have had similar problems to what you're describing on a different plane, and it had to do with the wings not being rigid. I'll see what I can figure out. And no, it's not tested in FAR yet.

Edit: I thought of one possible problem - are you flying it with SAS? I've found that SAS makes it act a little strange and continues the input past where I want to stop.

I just tried without SAS and I can confirm it is not stable to the point of being uncontrollable. You can make it fly level with little taps of the keys but if you want to maneuver at all it just flips and crashes.

I'm testing it right now with the keyboard (I usually fly with a joystick) and it's not nearly as unstable as your saying. If I put in a drastic input, like trying to pitch really hard, then yes, it stalls out and flips, but that's how the plane would actually fly. that might be where the problem is, but for the most part I'm maneuvering just as it would in real life. That said, it does have some negative pitch stability (It tends to follow the input direction instead of returning to prograde) so I'll try and fix that.

Edit: I think I figured it out, the CG is behind the wings, meaning that the lift creates torque around the CG and pushes the nose up. Now it's just a matter of shifting weight (And checking every other plane)

It's fixed! The CG is now over the wings, so no more of that mind of it's own nonsense. Thanks for the input!

I also added suspension to the landing gear to reduce the chance of bouncing off the runway in typical KSP fashion.

Enjoy!

Cool, will give it a go tomorrow. It's a beauty and deserves to fly nice too.
