Old mods

Hi I'm new to this forum.

Let me explain my situation, I've got a really old computer which can run only ksp 0.23, but I can't find any mod for that version anymore. Trust me, I've done a lot of research, but I could find only mechjeb and remote tech. Could someone send me the old mods via mediafire or similar if you still have them? Thanks, and I hope I posted in the right section

@nonnodacciaio There are literally, HUNDREDS, if not a THOUSAND mods that may have been around for 0.23... Asking for a complete list, or a "download" of all of them, is unrealistic...Your best bet is to go to Curseforge and search by Game Version. I would also recommend KerbalStuff , but one major failing of KS is the lack of any real, organized search functionality.

Also, be aware many mods may NOT specifically say they are for 0.23, but still may work in 0.23, if they are not too far away from version 0.23...

For example, mods for 0.20, 0.21, or up to 0.25 may also work in 0.23... Curse has nice way of showing that... The only other way to tell is to read thru each mod thread, close to the time 0.23 released, and maybe up to 6 months after...

KSP v0.23 released on 17th December, 2013

@Stone Blue since curse displays only two mods for 0.23, I'll try with some newer versions. Thanks a lot!

@nonnodacciaio really?... Hmmm... I got a whole list that showed up.... Make sure, when you open the page for a mod, you click the "Files" link, and a list of the various downloadable versions of the mod will show... Over on the right, it shows KSP version number... If you hover cursor over the KSP version, a list will pop up with ALL versions of KSP that that version of the mod is compatible with...

@nonnodacciaio if you post a list of mods you're interested in, we can probably help you find the appropriate versions. If those mods do releases on github then you might be able to find the versions you need there as well.

Btw, with KerbalStuff you can search by supported mod version as well. Check out the advanced search options on the search page. Unfortunately not much listed for 0.23, but there's a bit more for 0.23.5. I think KerbalStuff had pretty much just started around that time. That's actually when I started modding :D

Your PC can only run .23? That makes absolutely no sence. If anything, the newer versions of KSP are a lot friendlier to older low-end computers. If your PC can run .23, it can definitely run 1.0.5.

Nope, every version if KSP performs slightly worse than the previous one, at least since Beta. This is mostly visible with large parts crafts: 1.0.5 lags quite more than 1.0.4.

@nonnodacciaio, apart from KerbalStuff, most mods released on GitHub have available versions since early alpha or whenever they were created. Curse probably does that too, but no one uses it (sarcasm, don't flame me), including myself, so I can't tell.
Anyway, your best chances would be to search for up-to-date mods, and then go look for older releases.
Also, it is strange your PC can only run 0.23: do the other version just not start, or do they lag, or is your problem something else ? We can probably help you on this if you provide more information on your computer, though creating a new thread in Support (Unmodded Installs) describing your issue would be more appropriate.

Meh, I barely notice any difference. Well, I did notice a slight decrease in performance between 1.0.4 and 1.0.5, but nothing that makes the game unplayable on my ancient dinosaur laptop. In any case, I have an actual gaming PC I play on, so doesn't matter really. I'm just saying that if my horribly underpowered old laptop can play 1.0.5, so can nonnodacciaio's.

I found a few mods using that method, thanks a lot!

My pc is almost 10 years old, so 1.0.5 doesn't even start

@liquidhype my pc is almost 10 years old. It has a decent processor, but only 1gb of ram

You're welcome!

But a 10 year old pc with 1GB of RAM ? I'm afraid there's no miracle to be done here, I'm already impressed you manage to run 0.23 at all!
Anyway, good luck with your PC and I hope you don't find 0.23 too boring/old/outdated/insert-adjective-here. :)

2.2 GHz Dual core.. hmm... for a long while I played KSP (older versions, to be honest) on 2.8 Athlon x2 with 3GB of DDR2. Can you find used DDR2 sticks? In Serbia, they can be bought relatively cheaply. I think one can find DDR2 1GB for about 4-5 EUR. I imagine even one 1GB chip would ease your life immensely.
