Ok, I'm glad to hear that. It is a big time commitment, and that's why I've been quieter recently.

Nope, it's your LV. The only changes have been in some staging events, paint color, and fuel load to customize it for the mission. No changes in hardware at all.
The project name for the manned mission is Project Scorpius. Your LV was named Solaris. Following NASA's naming custom for manned missions, the launch becomes Scorpius-Solarius 01, or SS-01.

I love it, thanks man.

Hey everyone, first of all this is my first post. Huzzah! Secondly, I am an avid fan of RO/RSS and am very interested in this project. What is the best way to go about finding out your current staffing needs and how I might help the program flourish?

Hi, Analog, and welcome aboard!
If you're interested in joining us, but want to know a bit about what we're doing and how you can help, I'd recommend @ZooNamedGames. He's the Flight Director of the project.
We were aiming for a manned launch in the end of March, but things went south, so we're generating new mission ideas for now.

Don't forget @Sequinox!

I kid, of course. I only supplied a launch vehicle.

Excited to see how the launch turns out. Best of luck!

So, who is our brave Kerbalnaut?

We don't have a manned launch set yet, after the scrub. We'll let you know what the next mission is, so you don't have to keep making too many graphics.

@Mad Rocket Scientist I saw you added some LVs I think that I know a way to not have Phoenix 1 blow up everything on a single SRB failure. Do not let it leave the clamps I can have the kOS script check that the SRBs are firing.

But sometimes the SRBs fail in flight, with TestFlight.

Also, if you PM me you skype address, I can send you the SS-02 craft.

Making graphics is what I do best... and I don't mind making them... as you can tell by the most recent round of images...

That will be disastrous but it will not kill the pad (most of the time).

currently the ss-02 dosnt have any SRBs and the code does check for engine power and is capable of launch abort automatically (like the one the falcon 9 had a little while ago) with a bit of  tweaking to calculate % of thrust from each engine you mark with "first stage engine" on the part tags in kOS (or checking total stage thrust which i think is in there) you could easily program a launch abort to include all the first stage engines including SRBs oh and you should probably change the check to a loop if you are gonna use the part tag system.

ok ok ok SpaceX now made it impossible to me to not want to recreate that achievement- put me as the head of the booster recovery program @ZooNamedGames and @Dman979 THIS IS ON, SPACEX!

@Dman979 , @MadRocketScientist i want the 3 of us to perfect this,i'll have a holiday vacation of 2 weeks from the 19th so i'd love there to be a prototype of a lander to test code on by then, it can be a single stage on the pad but it needs to have at least a couple of throttleable engines that are capable of at least 2 ignitions. we'll talk and work more closely on this in a skype chat or a pm thread on the forums here

The user's guide and DL are in the shared RSP folder, if you have working code, I'll put the link to it in the user's guide.

As in a reusable 1st stage?  I think @Dman979 and I can work on something for that.

Personally, I'm making the 75t to LEO lifter have splashdown recoverable engines.  @Dman979 do you prefer forum PM or skype chat for building this?

Yeah as a recoverable first stage lander. It should probably be able to lift 10-25 mT to LEO but if you can squeeze more it'd be fine. The splashdown engine configuration is better for heavier payloads I agree. We could possibly even push this to 100 mT with that sort of design.
