Make ignition sounds everytime engine ignites

Recommended Posts

Everytime an engine is ignited, there is an ignition sound accompanying it. However, whenever the engine is reignited, there is no ignition sound. It sounds trivial but i guess it improves the gameplay experience :)

Are you sure? I'm pretty sure if you click "shutdown engine" and then "activate engine" the ignition sound plays each time... Maybe it only happens if you switch vessels and then switch back, I can't quite remember right now.

I'll have to test as well, it may be a "part activating" sound rather than an "ignition" sound, it's not a bad idea either way, though I would prefer all sound to fade out with lower air pressure, we shouldn't hear restarts in space at all.

Neither should we hear rocket burns, explosions and kerbals screaming space music XD

It may not be 'realistic', but I do like the audible indication that whatever action has taken place and I'd rather the sounds we have than a generic sterile 'beep'.

Maybe an on off toggle or slider specifically for 'ambient sounds in space' would do the job.

IMHO, the best way ever to handle sounds is this:

Make external sounds realistic, fade from normal at 1Atm to The Silence of Space (In Space!) + have muffled sounds for IVA + switchable to hear IVA sounds in external view. You would be able to enjoy the silence or hear what is going on on the ship from IVA perspective (without actually going IVA).

...or enjoy suspenseful sound of kerbal breath on EVA...

...heavy compressed sound on Eve's surface, like a bit underwater-y?
