Help me to bring Stimpy home!

Recommended Posts

How one lifts ~130 tonnes? Not on a top of a rocket, but from the ground by a klaw. My usual moar booster approach seems to be failing. Can't lift my dummy payload. Let me show my thought process:

Guess the engine pick was sub-ideal. But was I close? Did it just need one more booster? Guess I should admit I was never an engines-guy, not to mention the math concerning them. So... What propulsion would you use? Have some such lifter at hand?

Those look like jet engines, I think. From personal experience they're not as powerful as say, some of the SRBs and rocket engines. However the problem with those lies in the fuel consumption. If you're not intending to go very far, i'd recommend them. Or if you just need to move it, you could always go with wheels.

I am confused. What are you trying to do? And isn't Stimpy already home?

17km from KSC. Almost home, but I don't want the scientist and visitors to take such big trips.

Yeah, it seems that huge jet-engines weren't powerful enough. But there are enough ideas posted already.

1 issue I see.  Your trying to move ORE Tanks!!!  Bad... bad mojo...  O_o  Me and Ore tanks have a hate-hate relationship.  They blow up too easily.

2: try connecting from a different location, either directly above or on the very bottom.  connecting to the sides of Ore tanks seems to make them quite unstable.

3: try the same design but with a load of fuel tanks instead of ore tanks to rule out any Ore Tank related shenanigans going on.
