Put bunch of unrelated things in a single launch?

Iike I have in a mission que:

two jool probes.

new MPL module for mun station.

an empty oil truck for tug fuel from minmus mine rig to LKO station

put all of that in a 40ton lifter.

have you done something like that? is it a good idea?(looks like it won't..)

Re: Minmus inclination

It's easy to adjust the inclination of a Minmus-bound ship by waiting until it's a bit past the Mun's orbit.  Burning normal/anti-normal at that point (instead of in LKO) reduces the cost from a constant 300 delta-v to 0-60 (depending on how close the interception is to Minmus' AN/DN).

It looks something like this:

MinmusTransfer.jpg

(Note that this isn't a perfect example, I threw it together rapidly to demonstrate to someone else.  Adding a tiny amount moar anti-normal here would make the insertion better, for example.  Also the second node is probably further out than is optimal)

For Minmus I just do my departure burn at one of the Ascending/Descending nodes so I can correct my inclination with a quick puff of monopropellant at apogee. :)

But yeah, I'll stack multiple payloads on a rocket if there's a bunch that need to go up around the same time.

The Mun and Minmus parts would be tricky, because they each need to be launched with their own propulsion system that separates from the mothership after getting to orbit (making it quite big), but I frequently launch multiple probes bound for the same body on a single launch, using inline fairings

All the time. Last night I launched an orbital tanker, a Minmus ground station and a nuclear engine powered interplanetary drive unit for my next Duna mission. I had debated putting a 2-man crew return module onto it as well for a couple of rescue contracts in Kerbin orbit but it was getting a bit thin and wobbly to the point where not even struts were going to help :)

Launch the whole thing into orbit. Existing drive unit docks with the launch, refuels and then I dump the tank. New drive takes the ground station to Minmus and then returns to Kerbin orbit.

I love making 1 launch service multiple purposes!

I have done this, but normally I design my payloads then immediately launch them (my LKO is full of ships ready for departure, just need crewing up and the right window) so there's never really the foresight to launching multiple things. Closest I get is a multiprobe gantry (basically a long girder with lots of disposable probes on it)

I never really do that much. At most I tried a mission where a crewed capsule delivered 4 comsats to Munar orbit, and it almost went horribly wrong. The ship used up almost all its fuel, and many of the satellites ended up in the same orbit, so it was a waste. He barely got home, fortunately.

The trick is to give your satellites an Oscar fuel tank and spark engine. That way you can drop them of wherever in the target SOI and they can put themselves in the proper orbit

I didn't have those unlocked at the time. It was actually my first manned mission to the Mun. It wasn't planned the best.
