UFO Prototype V1.1

What should I add next?

  1. 1. What should I next add to the UFO?

    • Make horizontal controls more effective
    • Add more fuel to increase usability without cheats (May not work unless I drastically shrink it)
    • Work solely on other minor improvements (such as making it 100% stock, improving other small features of it, etc)
    • Make it so less heat damage is taken when driving through atmosphere
    • Other (Please reply w/ suggestion)

I just finished the first prototype of a UFO I'm working on. It can turn in any direction, is stock, is very stable (virtually no risk of flipping or getting out of control unless in atmosphere), and cheap. This one costed me around 70,000 271,000 funds, but the UFO can only fly for about 15 seconds in Kerbin's atmosphere unless infinite fuel is used.

I have quickly made a UFO v1.1, this version has some better heat resistance, 100% stock, improved action groups, and now the horizontal boosters are actually effective, as I've replaced them with mainsails, which I should have just done to begin with.

I know that, although i still wouldn't consider it a VTOL since it looks and flies differently.

Does it take off vertically?: Yes.

Does it land vertically?: Yes.

So it's a VTOL.

(technically almost all traditional landers are vtols)

This is not an UFO.

U stands for Unidentified. This aircraft is pretty documented.

/sarcasm off

nice idea and good job with aircraft! I imagine flying it without infinite fuel is not possible, sadly?

Flying it without infinite fuel is possible, but it can only fly for about 10-20 seconds. I did however build a smaller ion power UFO yesterday that can last for around 5 minutes before running out of ElectricCharge.
